Servit

Servit, a Mirialan male, was the owner of an EX droid that held the key to finding a priceless treasure. During the time known as the Republic Era, he inadvertently showed the droid to Jarl, a Weequay who desired the droid for his own purposes. Servit, in response, sought counsel from his acquaintance Dexter Jettster, who ran Dex's Diner, and revealed details of a family story about the droid. Recognizing the droid from an old prospector's story, Jettster elucidated its importance to Servit.

Subsequently, Jarl and his crew cornered Servit, holding the diner's patrons at blaster point in an attempt to force Servit to surrender the droid. Shortly thereafter, Jettster incapacitated the Weequay with a blow, initiating a brief conflict that would have favored Servit had Jarl not regained consciousness and threatened Servit with a blaster to his neck. He compelled the Mirialan back to the kitchen, where the EX droid was located, and together with Jettster, they viewed a holorecording revealing the treasure's coordinates. After Jettster deceived Jarl into believing the location was destroyed, the Weequay and his crew departed, leaving Servit to pursue the treasure himself.

Biography

A curious droid

Servit needed help from his friend Dexter Jettster (pictured).

During the Galactic Republic [era](/article/republic_era], Servit, a Mirialan male, lived on the planet of Coruscant. He was the owner of an EX droid that was centuries older than himself, considering it a cherished family heirloom passed down through generations from an ancestor on his mother's side. In his efforts to understand the droid's significance, Servit came into contact with Jarl, a Weequay; however, once Jarl realized the droid pointed to a valuable treasure, he attempted to seize it from the Mirialan. Servit fled to Dex's Diner, a local eatery, around midday. He entered the establishment and, relieved, noticed seven patrons, none of whom he recognized. Seeking to speak with the owner, Dexter Jettster, Servit approached the counter and requested the WA-7 waitress droid Wanda to summon him. As the proprietor was occupied, the Mirialan took a seat, glancing at the door and feeling relieved again as a Twi'lek entered, further alleviating his concern of encountering Jarl.

When Jettster greeted him, the chef offered a warm smile and suggested the brakkenback stew. Servit, pleased to see his friend, declined, asking to speak privately to seek his assistance. Once in the kitchen, Servit revealed the worn EX droid, questioning its potential value. Jettster explained that EX droids had been utilized by Republic Pathfinders during the Great Hyperspace Rush for communication purposes. He was curious as to why Servit possessed one, prompting the Mirialan to explain its generational history within his family, connected to a family legend: it was the only remnant of his mother's ancestor, who had been killed in a pirate raid at Shara'Tam, a location in the Outer Rim Territories. This event involved a Jedi named Sturm. This account astonished Jettster, as he recognized it from his prospecting days. The tale he had heard, centuries ago, also involved a Jedi named Sturm Umbrik who discovered a great treasure on the moon Shara'Tam but met his demise. Only an EX droid survived, its whereabouts unknown. The story became known as a myth, and Jettster never believed it to be true until the droid appeared in his friend's possession.

The calm before the Sturm

The hunt for Servit's droid culminated in a skirmish in Dex's Diner (pictured).

Agreeing that the EX droid might be the one from the story, Servit now understood why Jarl had been so interested in it. Indeed, as the droid began to reboot, Jarl and his crew caught up to him—Servit and Jettster heard blasterfire coming from the diner, with Servit apologizing for getting the proprietor caught up in his troubles as he explained who had arrived. Rushing to the front of the restaurant, Servit found Jarl leaning on the counter while his crew—consisting of a human, a Togruta, and a protocol droid, T7—were holding the customers at blaster point. The Mirialan reiterated to Jarl that he had no intention of giving up the droid, but the Weequay countered that he would not give him a choice, referencing his hostages. Jettster then came in in support of his friend, leaving Jarl uneasy but still aggressive: he offered Servit time to think over his options while he enjoyed a bowl of stew. Servit, for his part, felt that he had not really been given much choice.

Jettster brought Jarl the stew but carried a frying pan with him, serving the Weequay his lunch and subsequently knocking him unconscious with the pan. T7 raised his blaster but was knocked out of commission when the proprietor threw stew at him that got into his inner workings, leading the human and Togruta to open fire. In the ensuing lightfight, Jettster was able to take down the remaining members of Jarl's crew with his frying pans, but he had to concede when Jarl awoke and held his blaster to Servit's neck, forcing Servit into the kitchen to inspect the EX droid. The droid, which had been left rebooting on a work surface, had been repeating a message from Sturm Umbrik, revealing that the Jedi had discovered a valuable statue on Shara'Tam and giving the moon's coordinates.

Once the holorecording ended, Jettster laughed uproariously, angering Jarl, who proclaimed that he intended to take the statue and earn a fortune. The proprietor, however, claimed that the given coordinates placed Shara'Tam in the Ishram system, destroyed fifty years prior. Although Jettster was lying, Jarl neglected to check the coordinates himself, so when he had the Togruta look it up in his datapad, it confirmed Jettster's claims. Looking murderously at Servit, Jarl gathered his crew and left, leaving Servit and Jettster alone. The Mirialan thanked his friend and apologized for not having the credits for the damage caused to the diner. Nevertheless, Jettster then revealed that he had tricked Jarl and that Shara'Tam was actually located in the still-existing [Arath system](/article/arath_system], meaning that he could still acquire the treasure. Servit laughed in disbelief and, realizing that the stew had been strewn all over the place, asked if a dewback burger was available. Jettster laughed in return and instead thrust a mop into Servit's hands so that he could help Wanda clean up.

Personality and traits

Despite his fear of Jarl, Servit stood firm and refused to relinquish his droid. He felt remorseful for involving Jettster in his predicament when Jarl and his crew arrived at the diner, and he later expressed astonishment upon learning that the treasure had not been destroyed.
