Mandalorian judge

The Mandalorian adjudicator was a human member belonging to a Mandalorian covert located on a harsh, rocky desert planet. At that location, he witnessed the foundling Ragnar Vizsla's oath-taking of the Mandalorian Creed and the subsequent interruption caused by a dinosaur turtle assault. Furthermore, the adjudicator observed the declaration of redemption and the welcoming of the former Mandalorian apostates Din Djarin and Bo-Katan Kryze into the covert.

Subsequently, the adjudicator supervised sparring matches involving Mandalorian younglings, including Ragnar and the diminutive alien Grogu, though he initially expressed reservations about Grogu's size. He shepherded the children to safety when a Raptor abducted Ragnar, and later he witnessed Ragnar's return following his rescue. Sometime afterward, the adjudicator was present when the New Republic pilot Carson Teva conveyed information regarding a pirate siege affecting the planet Nevarro, prompting Djarin to assemble the covert and persuade them to intervene.

Biography

Encounters with a Turtle-like Creature

Around 9 ABY, this human Mandalorian was affiliated with a Mandalorian covert that belonged to the Children of the Watch, a Mandalorian faction adhering to the ancient Way of the Mandalore. This covert made their home on a rugged desert planet, where the Mandalorian served as an adjudicator for training skirmishes among foundlings. One particular day, the adjudicator participated in a ceremony held for the foundling Ragnar's swearing of the Mandalorian Creed on a shoreline adjacent to the covert's cave. The Mandalorian stood alongside a blue banner adorned with white symbols as Ragnar received his helmet from the covert's leader, "the Armorer." However, this swearing-in was disrupted by an attack from a dinosaur turtle. While many of the adult Mandalorians responded by firing upon the creature, the adjudicator began to guide a Mandalorian youngling toward the cave, with the Heavy Infantry Mandalorian Paz Vizsla, Ragnar's father, instructing the remaining younglings to seek shelter inside.

As the confrontation with the dinosaur turtle persisted, the Mandalorian adjudicator maintained his position at the cave entrance, discharging his blaster pistol, while other Mandalorians attempted to utilize grappling lines. The adjudicator slowly advanced alongside other Mandalorians wielding blaster weaponry, as those employing the lines were tossed about. The covert was compelled to retreat its defensive line when the creature managed to push forward, but they were rescued when the apostate Mandalorian Din Djarin appeared piloting his N-1 starfighter, killing the beast using his proton torpedos. With the danger averted, many Mandalorians gathered to witness Djarin's landing.

The Redemption of Djarin

Following a conversation with the Armorer, Djarin journeyed to the planet Mandalore, the ancestral homeworld of the Mandalorians, to immerse himself in the Living Waters situated within the mines of Mandalore in order to atone for removing his helmet in the presence of others. He successfully submerged himself in the waters, aided by the Mandalorian Nite Owl and revolutionary Bo-Katan Kryze, who was required to rescue him after he fell into a deep section. Subsequently, the pair returned to the covert on the desert planet.

Upon Djarin and Kryze's arrival, the adjudicator joined a group of other Mandalorians, led by Vizsla, who emerged to greet them. The Heavy Infantry Mandalorian attempted to turn the visitors away, but Djarin presented proof of his immersion in the Living Waters within a flask, prompting the adjudicator to turn to his comrades as the apparent apostate made his claim. Consequently, the group proceeded to the Armorer to verify the proof. The adjudicator observed as the Armorer confirmed that the flask contained some of the Living Waters, thereby redeeming Djarin and Kryze. The Mandalorians then congratulated the pair.

Supervision of Training

Subsequently, the covert engaged in combat training on the beach. There, the Mandalorian adjudicator oversaw one-on-one engagements between Mandalorians, announcing the victor when one yielded or was defeated. After the adjudicator supervised a fight in which Ragnar prevailed over another youngling, he engaged in conversation with another Mandalorian until Djarin arrived and offered his foundling, the alien Grogu, as a challenger. The Mandalorian adjudicator asserted that Grogu was too small, but as the foundling's guardian, Djarin insisted that he proceed. The mediator then inquired about the choice of weapon, with Djarin deferring that choice to the challenged, Ragnar. Ragnar selected darts as the challenge, and thus the Mandalorian adjudicator instructed his comrade to retrieve the training darts.

Upon the arrival of the darts, the Mandalorian adjudicator had Grogu and Ragnar equip themselves. He then elucidated the rules of the game: each contender possessed three darts, which they could launch in any sequence, and the highest number of direct hits would determine the winner. The adjudicator signaled the start, with Ragnar scoring a direct hit on Grogu on the first two attempts. However, on the third signal, Grogu leaped to evade the shot before striking Ragnar's chest thrice, outmaneuvering the other youngling. The adjudicator declared Grogu as the victor, and Ragnar retreated toward the shore. It was at that moment that a Raptor descended and snatched the defeated youngling, carrying him away. The adjudicator joined other Mandalorians in retreating into the cave while Vizsla, Djarin, and two others pursued the creature.

Kryze successfully located the Raptor's nest and led a group of Mandalorians, including Djarin and Vizsla, to rescue Ragnar. When Kryze's Gauntlet starfighter returned from the mission, the Mandalorian adjudicator was with a youngling and approached the ship alongside the other Mandalorians of the covert. Vizsla emerged from the Gauntlet starfighter with Ragnar, and the covert cheered for them, the adjudicator among them. The Mandalorian adjudicator also observed three Raptor younglings being brought out of the Gauntlet, as their parent had been killed in saving Ragnar. Observing the creatures being brought out, the adjudicator spoke with another Mandalorian, shaking his head.

A Plea for Assistance

The Mandalorian judge was present for Carson Teva's visit to the covert

Some time later, the New Republic pilot Carson Teva located the covert after tracking Djarin's astromech droid R5-D4. As the pilot approached the covert's cave, the Mandalorian adjudicator and some of his comrades emerged, led by Vizsla. The adjudicator watched as the Heavy Infantry Mandalorian instructed Teva to leave. Djarin also emerged, passing the adjudicator, and Teva delivered to Djarin a message he had received from the latter's friend, High Magistrate Greef Karga of the planet Nevarro, explaining that Karga's world had been invaded by pirates.

Seeking to aid Karga, Djarin convened a meeting with the other Mandalorians around a fire within the caves. Seated on the right side of the audience, the Mandalorian adjudicator watched Djarin implore the covert to assist Nevarro, offering an opportunity to settle there afterward and cease their clandestine existence. The adjudicator conversed with a Mandalorian during the discussion. Taking the floor, Vizsla raised the question of why they were risking their lives for the people of Nevarro, with the Mandalorian adjudicator nodding in agreement. Vizsla proceeded to explain that it was because they were Mandalorian, citing Djarin and Kryze's efforts to rescue his son Ragnar and expressing his support for helping Nevarro.
