Eta-2 Actis-class light interceptor
The Eta-2 Actis-class light interceptor, alternatively known as the Eta-2 Actis Jedi Interceptor or just Actis, functioned as a starfighter for the Jedi during the period of the Clone Wars. This craft was engineered as a successor to the Delta-7 Aethersprite-class light interceptor; while smaller, the Actis boasted improved offensive capabilities.
Characteristics

With a length of 5.47 meters, the Eta-2 Actis-class light interceptor served as a highly agile, combat-focused starfighter. The Jedi Order employed it to spearhead troop movements in the concluding stages of the Clone Wars. Mirroring earlier Jedi starfighters, this vessel omitted a built-in hyperdrive, instead relying on an external hyperspace transport ring for hyperspace travel. Despite this limitation, it surpassed its Aethersprite predecessor in speed, achieving a maximum acceleration of 5,200G and a top speed of 1,500 kph, thanks to its ion engines. The Eta-2 incorporated wings featuring upper and lower radiator panels, S-foils, designed to open and dissipate excess heat generated by the ship's engines. These radiator wings were primarily deployed during periods of intense combat.
A single pilot operated the ship, aided by an externally mounted astromech droid handling navigation and repair tasks. Offensively, the craft was equipped with two laser cannons and two ion cannons. In contrast to laser cannons, the ion cannons discharged bursts of plasma that induced temporary electrical failures in targeted systems.
History

Clone Wars
Kuat Systems Engineering designed the Eta-2 Actis-class light interceptor, which entered service before 19 BBY. It was conceived to replace the Delta-7 Aethersprite-class light interceptor and its Delta-7B variant, both previously utilized by the Jedi Order during the Clone Wars. The Eta-2 saw widespread action during the final year of the Clone Wars, most notably flown by figures such as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Grand Master Yoda.
During the Battle of Cato Neimoidia, Skywalker and his padawan Ahsoka Tano both piloted their new Eta-2s, only to be intercepted by droid tri-fighters. Pistoeka sabtoage droids were deployed onto Skywalker's starfighter, initiating a shutdown of the interceptor's systems. The droids bored into the ship's undercarriage, triggering an explosion that rendered Skywalker unconscious. Tano instructed R2-D2 to land the crippled craft on a nearby mountain, allowing her to leap onto the fighter and rescue Skywalker. She succeeded moments before Skywalker's starfighter plunged over the cliff, but only after R2 had escaped.
Grand Master Yoda, accompanied by R2-D2, utilized a modified Eta-2 on his quest to uncover the secrets of eternal consciousness.
Skywalker and Kenobi both piloted their Eta-2s during the Battle of Coruscant, in an attempt to rescue Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine, who was being held captive aboard the Invisible Hand. Kenobi's starfighter sustained heavy damage from buzz droids during their approach, resulting in the destruction of his astromech droid R4-P17. Skywalker employed his fighter to disable the Invisible Hand's shields, after which both pilots crash-landed their starfighters within the hangar bay. The starfighters were subsequently destroyed when the Invisible Hand's aft section separated from the rest of the ship as it entered Coruscant's atmosphere.
Kenobi piloted a blue Eta-2 with R4-G9 on his mission to locate General Grievous on Utapau.
Imperial Era
The newly appointed Darth Vader would make use of a green Eta-2 on his mission to eliminate the Separatist leaders on Mustafar.
Vader would continue to operate a modified black variant of the starfighter for several years following the conclusion of the Clone Wars.
Five years after the war's end, two Scrapper Guild members, Prauf and Cal Kestis, discovered a damaged Jedi interceptor on the junkyard planet Bracca. Unbeknownst to Prauf, the ship's discovery triggered Kestis's memories of his past, revealing him to be a Jedi survivor of the purge that decimated the Jedi Order.
A grey Eta-2 was displayed as one of the many exhibits within the Gallery of Peace at the Coalition for Progress headquarters, situated on Centax-3, the third moon of Coruscant.

In 3 ABY, Vader repurposed his green Eta-2 for a mission involving travel through the Red Honeycomb Zone to locate the Sith planet Exegol. Accompanied by Ochi of Bestoon, Vader was intercepted by Imperial forces dispatched to stop him, using the Eta-2 to eliminate the attacking TIE fighters. The pair also encountered a subspecies of summa-verminoth. After crashing on Exegol, Vader employed the Force to subdue the creature.
Later use
Between 32 ABY and 34 ABY, Temmin Wexley of the Resistance's Black Squadron piloted an Eta-2 during a mission to acquire a data archive containing the remaining contents of the Royal Library of Alderaan.
