Geist (Moff)
Geist, a Human male from the Legends continuity, held the positions of both High Moff and general in command of the Imperial Army. He served under the Fel Empire and subsequently Darth Krayt's Galactic Empire. Favoring combat over diplomacy, Geist consistently led his troops at the forefront, frequently employing intimidation and threats. As part of the Moff Council during Emperor Roan Fel's reign, Geist endorsed an alliance with the One Sith during the Sith–Imperial War against the Galactic Alliance. However, the Empire's ultimate victory in 130 ABY led to Darth Krayt, a Sith Lord, usurping the throne, forcing Fel into exile. Geist, along with the rest of the Moff Council, then pledged their loyalty to Krayt, the new Galactic Emperor, and served within his Sith Empire.
During the subsequent seven years, Geist grew disillusioned with the Moffs' diminished influence under Sith governance. He voiced his concerns during a council meeting on Coruscant, the Empire's capital world, in 137 ABY. As the Second Imperial Civil War raged against Fel's Empire-in-exile, the Galactic Alliance Remnant, and the New Jedi Order, Geist was tasked with leading a naval operation to confront the Empire's adversaries late in the year. Following the Sith's poisoning of Dac, Geist commanded the Outer Rim Third Fleet against Alliance Remnant forces attempting to evacuate the planet's inhabitants. However, the arrival of a fleet loyal to Fel forced Geist to convince his Sith overseer, Darth Stryfe, that retreat was a better option than total annihilation.
In 138 ABY, Darth Krayt initiated a major military offensive. Upon discovering the Jedi Hidden Temple on Taivas, he appointed Geist to lead the ground forces in the planned attack. After an initial orbital bombardment proved ineffective against Taivas's magnetic fields, Geist spearheaded an assault with stormtroopers, walkers, starfighters, and Sith warriors against the Jedi stronghold. Soon, however, fleets from the Alliance Remnant and the Empire-in-exile arrived to reinforce their Jedi allies. Krayt then deployed his secret Sith trooper army against the combined forces. As the fanatical Sith troopers relentlessly advanced, Geist was killed by Annihilator-class starfighters guns.
Biography
A pact with evil

During the Sith–Imperial War, Geist, a Human male, served as the general commanding the Imperial Army under Emperor Roan Fel's Fel Empire. This role earned him the rank of High Moff and a position on the Moff Council, a group of six individuals consisting of three civilians and three military leaders. Geist's council seat granted him control over a specific sector as its governor.
The conflict between the Imperials and the Galactic Alliance began in 127 ABY, largely fueled by the Moff Council's insistence. While Fel opposed the war, the council, particularly Geist, felt the need to reassert their authority against him. However, the Empire soon struggled against the abilities of the Alliance's allies, the New Jedi Order. One year into the war, Moff Nyna Calixte presented the council with an offer of alliance from the secretive One Sith. Fel also opposed this, but the Moffs, each with their own motivations, were more open to it. Consequently, the Sith joined the Imperial war effort, leading to a string of victories over the next two years. In 130 ABY, the Empire trapped and defeated the Galactic Alliance Defense Fleet at Caamas, resulting in the Alliance's surrender and the end of the war.
As the Imperials seized control of Coruscant, the galactic capital, the Sith laid siege to the Jedi on Ossus, killing many and scattering the survivors. On Coruscant, the Moff Council appeared before Fel in his new Imperial Palace, where Grand Admiral Morlish Veed reported on the Jedi massacre. The meeting was interrupted by Darth Krayt, the Dark Lord of the One Sith, and three of his Sith Lords. Krayt demanded Fel's life in exchange for the Sith's assistance, and cut through Fel's Imperial Knight bodyguards before slaying the Emperor (or so it seemed). As Veed tried to stop his fellow Moffs from interfering, Geist accused him of prior knowledge of the attack. Krayt, declaring himself the new Galactic Emperor, commanded the Moffs to swear allegiance, which they all did. However, Krayt had actually killed a double of Fel, allowing the real Emperor to escape into exile.
Serving the Sith

For the next seven years, Darth Krayt's Galactic Empire controlled much of the galaxy, while Fel established an Empire-in-exile and fought the Second Imperial Civil War against Krayt's forces. In 137 ABY, Predator-class fighters from Krayt's Skull Squadron pursued a starship matching the description of the Mynock, Cade Skywalker's personal craft, through Coruscant's skies. Krayt sought Skywalker's powerful healing abilities. Amidst the commotion, Geist and the Moff Council met in their Coruscant meeting chambers. Darth Maladi joined them via hologram, instructing them not to waste resources on hunting Skywalker and refusing to provide further details. Geist was the first to voice the council's frustration with being mere puppets of the Sith.
After Moff Konrad Rus left the meeting, Grand Admiral Veed suggested learning more about Skywalker, but Geist dismissed it as pointless due to the Moffs' lack of real power. Veed ended the ensuing argument and demanded Skywalker be found. In reality, Skywalker had already been captured by the Sith and was held prisoner for weeks before being rescued by his friends.
Assault on Dac
Later that year, Darth Wyyrlok betrayed Krayt during a battle on Had Abbadon. Believing Krayt dead, Wyyrlok assumed control of the Empire, making Veed his regent while maintaining the illusion of Krayt's stasis. When Veed learned of Roan Fel's plan to negotiate an alliance with the Jedi Order on Agamar, he convened the Moff Council. In their chambers, Veed outlined his plan: Moff Rulf Yage would lead an assault on Agamar to kill or capture Fel. Geist was instead sent to Dac.

Krayt had previously instigated the genocide of Dac's Mon Calamari. Around the same time as Operation: Thunderstroke, Wyyrlok ordered Vul Isen to accelerate the process by infecting the water with viral spores. This poisoning, known as the Final Protocol, would kill all life on the planet within a week. Wyyrlok anticipated an evacuation by the Galactic Alliance Remnant, which had recently allied with Fel, and tasked Geist with confronting the Galactic Alliance Core Fleet in orbit above Dac. Geist, along with Darth Stryfe, boarded Admiral Krion Grail's Relentless, a Pellaeon-class Star Destroyer serving as the flagship of the Outer Rim Third Fleet. Ten hours into the evacuation, Geist's force arrived at Dac.
On the Relentless's bridge, Geist argued that the fleet's primary target should be Admiral Gar Stazi and his flagship, the Alliance, but Stryfe insisted on prioritizing the Mon Calamari's extinction. Stazi sent five bomb-carrying drone vessels towards the Relentless, which Geist ordered destroyed. However, the vessels contained ion bombs that disabled the Third Fleet's sensors. Grail ordered power transferred to the Relentless's shields as the Remnant's capital ships attacked. Five Imperial ships were destroyed, but the Remnant retreated to protect their emergency evac fleet.
When the Relentless's sensors returned, Stryfe demanded they target the civilian ships. Geist's insistence that Stazi was the primary threat prompted Stryfe to lift him by the neck. Stryfe argued that Stazi would use his capital ships to shield the civilians, which he did. The Remnant fleet suffered heavy damage, but a fleet from the Empire-in-exile arrived and attacked the Sith–Imperial ships. Trapped, Geist insisted on retreating, convincing Stryfe that attempting to exterminate the Mon Calamari at the cost of their own lives would only please their enemies. The Third Fleet jumped to lightspeed, allowing the evacuation to continue. Meanwhile, Roan Fel escaped from Agamar.
Walking into the flames

In 138 ABY, Darth Krayt returned to Coruscant to slay Wyyrlok, reclaim his throne, and renew the war against the Empire's enemies. Veed was dismissed, and the Moff Council was reduced in numbers when Konrad Rus disappeared and Nyna Calixte fled Coruscant after being revealed as a spy for Roan Fel. After Antares Draco revealed the location of the Jedi Hidden Temple on Taivas, Krayt gathered Geist, Veed, and Fehlaaur'aitel'loro in his war room in the Temple of the Sith. He outlined his plan: Yage would lead a naval assault, Geist would command troops on the ground, and Veed would oversee their combined forces.
The Moffs left to prepare, unaware that they were bait in Krayt's plan to destroy the Alliance between the Jedi, Empire-in-exile, and Galactic Alliance Remnant. The Imperial Navy arrived at Taivas and initiated the Attack on the Hidden Temple with an orbital bombardment. When the bombardment proved ineffective due to high cliffs and magnetic fields, Geist and his ground troops were deployed. Leading stormtroopers, Imperial walkers, TIE _Predator_s, Sith-Imperial starfighters, and Sith warriors, Geist led the attack on foot towards the Hidden Temple, which consisted of starships turned upright in a pool of water. The Imperials opened fire, meeting minimal resistance from the Mynock and a group of Jedi and Imperial Knights.
Despite losses, the invasion force advanced. Meanwhile, in orbit, fleets from the Empire-in-exile and Galactic Alliance Remnant emerged from hyperspace, surrounding the Sith–Imperials. Krayt, anticipating this, deployed his secret Sith trooper army, including Dragon ships and Annihilator-class starfighters. The Sith troopers, loyal to Krayt, attacked both friendly and enemy forces. When they fired on the Imperial Army forces, Geist frantically commed Veed, who ordered him to retreat. However, an explosion caused by the _Annihilator_s' guns killed Geist and most of his forces as the Sith troopers advanced towards the Imperial Knights and Jedi. Outmatched, the Alliance forces escaped when a beam of light created by the death of T'ra Saa destroyed Sith–Imperial ships and created an escape route.
Personality and traits

Geist served as the commanding general for both the Fel Empire's and Darth Krayt's Galactic Empire's Imperial Army. He favored intimidation and threats, dismissing Konrad Rus's Imperial Mission and its "Victory Without War" philosophy. Geist fought alongside his troops, leading them from the front lines at Taivas, eager to confront the Jedi.
As a member of Krayt's Moff Council, Geist harbored his own agenda. Distrustful of his colleagues, he suspected Rus of being a spy for Roan Fel and accused Veed of aiding Krayt's usurpation. Despite their disagreements, the council's fear of the Sith's power limited their infighting. Geist resented the Moffs' powerlessness under Sith control, feeling like they were disposable. He initially supported the war against the Galactic Alliance and the alliance with the Sith after growing tired of Roan Fel manipulating the Moffs, but later realized that Fel's Empire had granted him more authority than Krayt's. Geist romanticized the days of the Imperial Remnant, believing it had granted its Moffs significant power.
Despite being the leader of the Imperial Army, Geist was chosen to command a naval mission to Dac. He disregarded Darth Stryfe's orders to target the Mon Calamari, referring to them as insignificant "fish-heads," and openly argued with Stryfe on the Relentless's bridge. Geist considered Gar Stazi and the Galactic Alliance Remnant a significant threat but chose to retreat when defeat seemed imminent. He convinced Stryfe, who was fanatically following Krayt's orders, to agree to the retreat. Geist had black hair, dark skin, and golden eyes.
