Overseer (Imperial-class)
The Overseer was an Imperial-class Star Destroyer constructed at the Kuat Drive Yards for the Imperial Navy. It later became the designated flagship for Titan Squadron. This Star Destroyer achieved significant victories at both Jeyell and Pothor. Notably, at Jeyell, it successfully eliminated numerous Nebulon-B escort frigates despite facing a numerical disadvantage. Subsequently, the vessel engaged in defense against the forces of the New Republic at the Var-Shaa dockyard, sustaining substantial damage. Despite this, it evaded capture by its New Republic adversaries and initiated a search for survivors from the conflict. The extensive damage necessitated a comprehensive refit of the Star Destroyer before it could be redeployed to active duty.
On one occasion, the Overseer was supported by a complement of three Arquitens-class command cruisers, four Raider-class corvettes, in addition to two Gozanti-class cruisers.
History
Early deployments
During the period of the Galactic Civil War, the Overseer saw action in the engagements at Pothor and also at Jeyell.
Var-Shaa retreat

Following the Battle of Endor, the New Republic Defense Fleet launched an offensive targeting the Imperial dockyards positioned in orbit around the planet Var-Shaa. The Imperial forces suffered significant losses, including the destruction of an Imperial Star Destroyer and the complete annihilation of the dockyard facility. Captain Terisa Kerrill gave the order to withdraw; however, one pilot, Titan Leader Captain Varko Grey, was unable to board the Overseer before its jump to lightspeed. He was later rescued by Imperial reinforcements after the New Republic fleet had departed.
Mission to end Project Starhawk

At a later time after the Battle of Var-Shaa, the Overseer served as the central command ship for a naval group operating within the Talcene System. During this period, a series of attacks on Star Destroyers drew the attention of Admiral Rae Sloane. Having received intelligence implicating Project Starhawk and Commander [Lindon Javes](/article/lindon_javes], Sloane assigned Kerrill to the task, referencing her prior association with Javes before his defection. Kerrill's forces, including the Overseer, were tasked with locating and destroying Project Starhawk.
Starling the convoy at Desevro
Subsequent to deploying Titan Squadron for the mission to Hosnian Prime, the Overseer took part in an assault directed at a New Republic convoy. The purpose of this attack was to obtain intelligence concerning the whereabouts of Project Starhawk. The Imperial-class Star Destroyer Tormentor's intervention disrupted the mission in its early stages, which forced Captain Kerrill to utilize the Overseer to deploy boarding parties via shuttle. These teams were sent to extract intelligence from transports that Titan Squadron had successfully disabled. Despite Captain Amos's actions, the mission met its objectives, and the sector coordinates for Project Starhawk were successfully acquired from the convoy.
Ambushed at the Zavian Abyss

Following the Desevro operation, the Overseer was strategically drawn into an engagement within the Zavian Abyss. This constituted an ambush orchestrated by the New Republic to impede its progress in locating Project Starhawk. During the conflict, the New Republic unveiled their prototype Starhawk-class battleship, the Starhawk, which employed its powerful tractor beam to seize the Overseer and propel it into nearby asteroids, resulting in damage to the Star Destroyer. However, LT-514 successfully completed a scan of the New Republic convoy's navicomputer, obtaining the sector and system data for Project Starhawk. Kerrill then ordered a retreat and initiated a jump to lightspeed.
Repairs in the Remitik system

As a result of the damage sustained in the Zavian Abyss, the Overseer was compelled to exit hyperspace in the Remitik system and request repairs and munitions from the local Imperial munitions depot, under the command of Colonel Gralm. Gralm denied their request. Instead, Gralm instructed Kerrill's forces to assist in defending the depot from rebel guerrilla attacks. Dissatisfied with this arrangement, Kerrill commanded Titan Squadron to patrol the depot, scanning for munitions that could be seized. They discovered baradium aboard a pair of Zeta-class Heavy Cargo Shuttles. During a battle initiated by the New Republic, the baradium shuttles were remotely piloted back to the Overseer while Gralm was preoccupied. Once the shuttles were secured onboard, the Overseer departed the system, leaving behind an irate Gralm.
Devastation at Mon Cala

Admiral Rae Sloane devised strategy to divert the Nadiri fleet by launching multiple attacks on various locations, with the intention of drawing the New Republic fleet away from the Nadiri Dockyards, thereby creating an opportunity for Kerrill to exploit. Kerrill ordered Titan Squadron to execute a hit-and-fade strike on Mon Cala. The Overseer arrived during the final stages of the battle, contributing to the destruction of the Silver Coronet.
Attack at Nadiri Dockyards

Following the successful strike on Mon Cala, the New Republic Defense Fleet had been redeployed from the Nadiri Dockyards, leaving the facility vulnerable to an attack. The Overseer deployed Titan Squadron, tasking them with targeting the shield generators and hangars to weaken the dockyard's defenses. This was followed by a Baradium missile assault on the Starhawk, which crippled its hyperdrive. As the Overseer launched a final missile barrage, the Temperance intervened at the last moment, blocking the attack and sustaining critical damage to its own hyperdrive. With the New Republic fleet returning, Kerrill commanded the Overseer and Titan Squadron to withdraw.
Traps in the debris field

After crippling both the Starhawk and the Temperance at the Nadiri Dockyards, the Overseer dispatched Titan Squadron to attack the fleet commanded by General Hera Syndulla, which had departed the dockyards en route to Chandrila and was navigating through Sissubo's debris field. Abandoned Star Destroyer hulls within the debris field were utilized as traps, targeting waves of passing corvettes and a Nebulon-B frigate, resulting in their destruction. The remaining New Republic vessels altered their course, entering the Ringali Nebula.
Battle of Galitan

After forcing General Syndulla's fleet into the Ringali Nebula, the New Republic forces were cornered close to the moon Galitan. Admiral Sloane dispatched reinforcements from her own fleet to support Kerrill's mission to eliminate the rebels. The Overseer participated in an assault alongside Titan Squadron on the damaged Starhawk, which was defended by Anvil Squadron. Titan Squadron successfully penetrated the defenses and damaged the Starhawk's tractor beam core, ensuring its eventual destruction. Lindon Javes, the Imperial defector, arrived to engage in combat but was defeated by one of Titan's pilots. Kerrill, satisfied with the success of her mission, ordered all Imperial vessels to withdraw. While the remaining Imperial forces stayed behind to mop up the New Republic, Titan Squadron returned to the Overseer, and they jumped to hyperspace. All other Imperial forces were destroyed when Syndulla sacrificed the Starhawk by crashing it into the moon's exposed core. The resulting explosion and shockwave obliterated all remaining Imperial ships.
