A Ronto Wrap was a type of sandwich featuring ronto meat, served on a bread flatbread known as a ronto wrapper, and complemented by toppings of slaw along with either Clutch Sauce or emulsauce. Around the year 232 BBY, the Jedi figures Kai Brightstar, Nubs, and Celesta Kami enjoyed these Ronto Wraps following their lightsaber training sessions. In 229 BBY, the pirate known as Zyle Keem was known to stuff Ronto Wraps inside their leather duster. Furthermore, around 1 ABY, General Kardan of the Imperial forces, while on board the Halcyon starcruiser, consumed a food platter that included three of these wraps.
In 34 ABY, these wraps were available at Ronto Roasters, the establishment of podracing enthusiast Bakkar, situated in Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu. The pitmaster droid 8D-J8 was responsible for their preparation. During that same year, Salju, a mechanic, gave Vi Moradi, a Resistance spy, a tour of the outpost, and both ordered Ronto Wraps. On one occasion, 8D-J8 offered a Ronto Wrap to Remex Io, a Clawdite, but the offer was declined. Additionally, a droid repair technician consumed some of the wraps after saving Seezelslak, the bartender, from a First Order re-education facility.

The Ronto Wrap held the distinction of being the top-selling sandwich at Ronto Roasters. This restaurant, owned by podracing aficionado Bakkar, was located in Black Spire Outpost on the Outer Rim planet Batuu, among other popular destinations. The wrap consisted of two delicate cuts of ronto meat, with the tough skin removed. These cuts were then cooked by the pitmaster droid 8D-J8 on a grill powered by a podracer engine. The two cuts, which included a link and chopped meat underneath, were topped with slaw and Clutch Sauce, Bakkar's signature sauce known for its smoky and spicy flavor. The filling was served in a flatbread called a ronto wrapper. Bakkar also incorporated a special spice blend, a family secret, into the wrap. Additionally, there was a breakfast variant known as the Ronto Morning Wrap and a meat-free version called the Ronto-less Garden Wrap. All three versions were safe for humans to consume, with the Garden Wrap being suitable for Pantorans and the Ronto Wraps themselves for Zabraks, Artiodacs, and Pooba.
Strono Tuggs, the chef at Tuggs' Grub, a nearby mobile eatery parked in Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, also offered his own version of the Ronto Wrap. While the Artiodac willingly admitted that his version was inferior to Bakkar's, he suggested that the difference was negligible if the wrap was sufficiently covered in emulsauce.

Following lightsaber training on Batuu around 232 BBY, the Jedi figures Kai Brightstar, Nubs, and Celesta Kami felt hungry and acquired Ronto Wraps. Their peer Lys Solay opted for a Ronto-less Garden Wrap instead. The group visited the Creature Stall in the Black Spire Outpost Market, where they consumed their wraps. In 229 BBY, Zyle Keem, a fourteen-year-old pirate aboard a Nihil ship patrolling the Stormwall hyperspace barrier, stuffed packaged Ronto Wraps into their leather duster to bring to the planet Valo. The following year, three Jedi younglings encountered the dining establishment Marl's Good Enough Eats on the planet Palagosal. As they moved through the vandalized diner, Jamil Sollis, one of the younglings, stepped on some rotten food and speculated that it might have been a ronto wrap. Around 1 ABY, during the Galactic Civil War, General Kardan of the Galactic Empire indulged in a platter that included three Ronto Wraps while aboard the commandeered pleasure starcruiser known as the Halcyon.

During 34 ABY, amidst the war between the First Order and the Resistance, Salju, a local mechanic, guided Vi Moradi, a Resistance spy, on a tour of Black Spire Outpost. They made a stop at Ronto Roasters, where they each ordered a Ronto Wrap. Following the arrival of the First Order on Batuu, 8D-J8, accompanied by an astromech droid, offered a Ronto Wrap to Remex Io, a Clawdite. Despite the droid's claim that the wraps were juicy and the best in the quadrant, the criminal remained unimpressed and declined the offer. During the First Order's occupation of Batuu that same year, Tuggs included his personal Ronto Wrap recipe in his cookbook, The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook. Around that time, the adventurer Eloc Throno mentioned the Ronto Wrap in his book Traveler's Guide to Batuu. Also during the occupation, a droid repair technician consumed Ronto Wraps after rescuing Seezelslak, the bartender, from a First Order re-education facility. Following the defeat of the clone of Darth Sidious in 35 ABY, Ardis San Tekka, a creature enthusiast, mentioned Ronto Wraps as part of her entry on rontos in her journal, which detailed her adventures observing non-sentient creatures of the galaxy with her droid companion, B8-T5.

The Ronto Wrap was revealed on February 27, 2019, as part of a comprehensive press release detailing the upcoming dining options for the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge themed area. It initially appeared in the first issue of the Marvel Comics comic-book miniseries Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, authored by Ethan Sacks, illustrated by Will Sliney, and published on April 24 of that year. The dish made its debut in the real-world Ronto Roasters restaurant at Disneyland upon its opening on May 31. The official menu description for the Ronto Wrap reads as follows: "Roasted Pork, Grilled Pork Sausage, Peppercorn Sauce, tangy Slaw, wrapped in Pita."
The out-of-universe recipe for the dish was included in the cookbook Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook, penned by Chelsea Monroe-Cassel and Marc Sumerak, which was released on November 5, 2019. The recipe calls for vegetable oil, diced yellow onion, ground pork, chorizo sausage with the casings removed, brown sugar, tomato purée, salt, pepper, guacamole, and ronto wrappers, for which the book provides a separate recipe. According to Monroe-Cassel, the cookbook recipe differs from the theme park recipe due to adjustments made for home kitchens. In the video game Star Wars: Squadrons, released on October 2, 2020, the player character may express a craving for a Ronto Wrap at the beginning of a multiplayer match if the player is using the "Rookie B" voice option.

The non-canon video game expansion for The Sims 4 Star Wars: Journey to Batuu, released on September 8, 2020, featured Ronto Wraps available for purchase from a vendor in single or group servings, used to satisfy the hunger needs of the player's Sims. Ronto Wraps also made appearances in two flashbacks depicting stories recounted to Resistance general Finn in the 2022 Disney+ animated special LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation. In a flashback set on the planet Coruscant in 18 BBY, Darth Vader, the Dark Lord of the Sith, along with a Trandoshan and a Jawa, celebrated the Imperial holiday of Empire Day by acquiring and consuming Ronto Wraps. However, their celebration angered Emperor Palpatine, leading Vader to discard his wrap.
In a flashback set on the moon Endor in 15 ABY, Mahlnor, a Twi'lek, enjoyed one of the wraps while visiting the Admiral Snack Bar on the moon. While there, she playfully teased Gial Ackbar, a Mon Calamari, about his reluctance to refer to a Ronto Wrap as a "snack." Later, Solo, along with his new acquaintance Sidero and Mahlnor, were served Ronto Wraps with blue milk while seated at the bar's tables. Furthermore, Ronto Wraps are mentioned in the full version of the song "Scarif Beach Party," excerpts of which are played in LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation. The song was performed by "Weird Al" Yankovic, who also voiced Vic Vankoh, a musician, during a flashback set on the planet Scarif, and it was released on the same day as the animated special.
