The Alliance Commander, also called the Outlander, achieved legendary status as a champion of the Galactic Republic. This figure was instrumental in leading the Eternal Alliance against the oppressive Eternal Empire and ultimately annihilated Tenebrae, a powerful ancient entity steeped in the dark-side of the Force.
This champion gained considerable fame as a prominent hero of the Galactic Republic throughout the Galactic War. During the Revanite Crisis, the champion spearheaded an incursion into Korriban, the very homeworld of the Sith, and subsequently reclaimed Tython, the fallen Jedi homeworld. Soon after, the champion orchestrated a grand coalition uniting the Republic and the Sith Empire to stand against the Order of Revan's plot. This conspiracy aimed to infiltrate galactic governments and resurrect Vitiate, the former Sith Emperor. Despite the defeat of the legendary Force user Revan and his forces, Vitiate's spirit thrived on the battle's energy and was reawakened. The champion intercepted Vitiate on Ziost, but was unable to prevent him from destroying the planet. Ultimately, the champion was captured and brought before the hidden Eternal Empire. This empire was ruled by Vitiate, who operated under the guise of the Eternal Emperor Valkorion. Valkorion's son, Arcann, then seized the opportunity to assassinate his father. Following this, Valkorion's spirit co-inhabited "the Outlander," and Arcann took control of the Eternal Throne for himself.
Arcann then imprisoned the Outlander in carbonite and conquered both Imperial and Republic territories using his unmatched Eternal Fleet. A strike team, led by Sith Lord Lana Beniko and accompanied by T7-O1 and Koth Vortena, eventually rescued the Outlander. The team then assisted the champion in discovering the Gravestone, an unparalleled ancient superweapon. Despite facing near destruction in an ambush by Arcann at the Asylum, the Outlander and their allies escaped and established the Alliance against Zakuul on the planet Odessen. By rallying remnants of the Empire and Republic, and accumulating wealth and weaponry, the Alliance grew into a formidable force to oppose the Eternal Empire. During the crucial battle of Odessen, the "Commander," as they were now known, was empowered by Valkorion's spirit and the teachings of Jedi Grand Master Satele Shan and Dark Councillor Darth Marr, and defeated Arcann in combat. Arcann's life was spared, but the advanced artificial intelligence SCORPIO betrayed the Commander and seized the Eternal Fleet for Valkorion's daughter Vaylin, who then became the Eternal Empress.
Driven by vengeance, Vaylin initiated a campaign to locate and destroy Arcann and their mother Senya, eventually besieging the planet Voss. However, the Commander's forces soon drove her away. Seeking redemption for his past actions, a reformed Arcann joined the Commander on Zakuul, the throneworld of the Eternal Empire, and helped to turn the public against Vaylin. In desperation, Vaylin attacked Odessen but was ultimately killed by the Commander. With no one to control the Eternal Throne, the Eternal Fleet went rogue and moved to exterminate all life. The Commander led the Alliance to victory over the remnants of the Eternal Empire on Zakuul, securing the Throne and pacifying the Fleet. However, Valkorion's spirit revealed that he had manipulated the Commander to defeat his children so that he could take over the champion's body and rule the galaxy as a heroic liberator. In a final showdown, the Commander, with the assistance of Valkorion's own family and a mystical holocron recovered from Nathema, banished the ancient entity into the void.
The Commander then declared a new era of galactic peace under the banner of the Eternal Alliance. However, the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire, both in the process of rebuilding, soon jockeyed for control over the Six Gods of Iokath, ancient superweapons linked to the Eternal Fleet and Gravestone. The Commander allied with the Republic and led a strike force to destroy the Six Gods. Later, the fanatical Order of Zildrog, seeking to avenge the fall of the Eternal Empire, awakened another ancient superweapon, Zildrog. Although the Commander defeated the Order before it could unleash galactic chaos, the Eternal Fleet and Gravestone were ultimately destroyed. Emboldened by the return of the Sith champion Darth Malgus, the Empire invaded Ossus and Corellia, but were decisively repelled by the Commander and joint Republic-Alliance forces. The weakened Alliance soon dissolved and reorganized under the Republic. After discovering that a final remnant of Valkorion's spirit remained, the Commander joined Satele Shan and many of history's greatest champions to destroy him once and for all.
The individual who would come to be known as the Outlander was born sometime before the outbreak of the Galactic War. This figure became deeply involved in the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. Through extraordinary actions, the Outlander rapidly ascended the ranks, becoming a central figure in the full-scale war that eventually erupted between the two galactic superpowers.
Approximately a year after the events of the Conquest of Makeb, the Outlander began investigating a reported conspiracy within both the Republic and Empire. This plot was believed to be linked to two prominent military commanders: Darth Arkous and Colonel Rian Darok. These two were suspected of orchestrating simultaneous attacks on both Korriban and Tython, with the Outlander present at both locations. Joining forces with Republic Strategic Information Service agent Theron Shan and Sith Lord Lana Beniko, Arkous's former apprentice, the Outlander traveled to Manaan, the homeworld of the Selkath, to investigate the underwater Genetics Laboratory G-1, which both Arkous and Darok had visited. Shan alerted the Outlander to the location of Jakarro, a Wookiee smuggler imprisoned by the Selkath geneticist Gorima. The Outlander freed Jakarro and his droid C2-D4, and together they discovered that Gorima had acquired Rakata technology from Arkous and Darok. Gorima was using this technology to construct self-repairing cyborg warriors for an "Infinite Army." Arkous and Darok revealed their collaboration and escaped in a submarine, detonating a bomb to sink the facility. However, the Outlander and Jakarro escaped in another submarine and reached the surface. Rejoining Shan and Beniko, the Outlander learned that Arkous and Darok were members of the Order of Revan, previously thought to be a minor cult within the Empire. Now, the Order sought to destroy both the Republic and Empire to establish a new order.

Continuing their partnership, Shan and Jakarro tracked Arkous and Darok to Rakata Prime, the Rakata homeworld and former capital of their Infinite Empire. The Revanites were building their new Infinite Army based on Gorima's research there. To stop them, Shan and Beniko arranged for Jakarro and the Outlander to attack the Temple of the Ancients, while they provided tactical intelligence from aboard Jakarro's XS stock light freighter. Jakarro and the Outlander confronted the Revanite leaders on the Temple's roof and were forced to kill them when they refused to cooperate. After their deaths, a small fleet emerged from hyperspace and positioned itself in low orbit. The fleet's commander then revealed himself via hologram to be Revan himself. Revan's Harrower-class dreadnought dropped out of hyperspace and bombarded the Temple, but the Outlander and Jakarro escaped in Arkous's shuttle. Rejoining their allies on Manaan, the Outlander discovered that the Revanites had used their influence to discredit Theron within the SIS and place bounties on Lana and Jakarro. The governments of both the Republic and Empire were unaware of the conspiracy, as Arkous and Darok had effectively concealed their actions. Shan and Beniko, now labeled as traitors, were forced into hiding. The Outlander, not implicated in the conspiracy, returned to the known galaxy to continue fighting in the war.

Months after the Rakata Prime incident, the Outlander discovered the coordinates of Rishi on their ship's navicomputer and chose to travel there. Upon arrival, the Outlander was mistaken for a fearsome member of a pirate gang. It was revealed that Lana Beniko had tampered with the navicomputer, as she and Theron Shan had been investigating Revanite movements in the Outer Rim since Rakata Prime. Theron and Lana revealed themselves after their associate followed the clues to their safe house, explaining that they needed to manually access files at the Nova Blades' base of operations without attracting the Revanites. Hence, the masquerade was to make it appear as a common pirate rivalry. Theron and Lana sent the Outlander, posing as a pirate, to harass the Nova Blades, attacking their operations and slave camps and threatening the pirate alliance with the Revanites. Eventually, they targeted the Blades' base at the crashed Aggressor, killing Commodore Dael Margok and recovering intel on Revanite agents. While Theron decoded the intel, Lana sent the Outlander to meet with Shae Vizla, whose Mandalorian clan was previously allied with the Blades and Revanites, to gather more information, revealing that the Revanites had a fleet waiting somewhere on the planet.

Upon the Outlander's return from Vizla's Tracyn Island, they learned from Jakarro that Beniko had allowed Theron to be captured by the Revanites. Beniko then realized that by altering the hyperlanes, the Revanites were drawing the Empire and Republic fleets to Rishi, luring them into an ambush. Fortunately, C2-D4 had decoded that the Revanites were based on the nearby Sky Ridge Island and suggested seeking lodging with the Rishii village there. The trio traveled to the village and met with the local Chieftain, Arankau, who allowed them to stay. Beniko stayed behind to assist with slicing, sending the Outlander to scout the Revanite camps. After learning that Theron Shan was held at their main base, the Outlander embarked on a rescue mission, though Shan managed to escape on his own. He revealed Revan's plan: upon the fleets' arrival at Rishi, Revanite sleeper agents would sabotage key systems while a signal jammer would prevent coordination, allowing the Revanite fleet to massacre the survivors. With his plan exposed, Revan initiated his stronghold's self-destruction sequence, but Lana remotely aborted it using slicing techniques learned from Theron.

With the signal jammer protected from slicing and aerial bombardment, the Outlander moved quickly to deactivate it, enabling communication with the fleets and exposing the Revanite conspiracy. Theron Shan uploaded the identities of the double agents, leading to their immediate detention. Grand Master Satele Shan and Darth Marr, commanding the fleets, agreed to meet in Raider's Cove to discuss a temporary truce to address the threat posed by Revan. Both the Republic and Empire agreed to a temporary coalition to prevent Revan from resurrecting the Sith Emperor, who intended to consume all life in the galaxy. The coalition then traveled to Yavin 4, where Revan planned to execute his endgame. The coalition established a staging area on Yavin 4 and apprehended Imperial Guard Commandant Iven. On Yavin 4, the Outlander encountered a mysterious Force spirit claiming to be Revan. As the situation became clear, the coalition overcame their differences and worked together to storm the Temple of Sacrifice and stop Revan's ritual.

The spirit was revealed to be Revan's light half, with the physical man embodying his darker personality. Revan was attempting to resurrect the Sith Emperor to destroy him in a weakened corporeal form, ending him permanently. Realizing Revan's delusion and understanding that the former Emperor could not be conventionally defeated, the Outlander led the coalition on a final assault on the Forgotten Terrace at the Temple of Sacrifice, where Revan planned to revive the Emperor using an ancient artifact. The Outlander stood alongside Lana Beniko, Darth Marr, Satele and Theron Shan, Jakarro, and Shae Vizla, who together defeated Revan, who finally agreed to merge with his light side to make his soul whole once more. Despite Revan's defeat, the Sith Emperor was still able to return, drawing power from the lives lost during the fighting on Yavin 4.

Sometime later, Lana Beniko and Theron Shan contacted the Outlander, urging them to visit the Sith world of Ziost to investigate an anomaly: the planet's civilians were acting mindlessly. Vitiate had infected the minds of Ziost's populace, including the Jedi of the Sixth Line sent by Theron. The Outlander killed the possessed Jedi Master [Garault], after which Beniko explained the situation. She assigned her assistant Rane Kovach to help the Outlander shut down the Orbital Defense Command Center, where they met Theron Shan, whose shuttle had crashed. Learning that Shan had incapacitated Vitiate's puppets by overloading his shuttle, Kovach devised a plan to free the soldiers from Vitiate's control using an electrical charge and departed for New Adasta. Theron then received a priority holocall from Supreme Chancellor Leontyne Saresh, who initiated an Invasion of Ziost, providing Vitiate with more pawns.

After Kovach's plan to use electrical dampeners in New Adasta failed, Beniko proposed an alternative, contacting Theron and the Outlander for assistance. Theron modified New Adasta's electrostatic weapon, designed to counter civil uprisings, to be non-lethal. The Outlander then played on Vitiate's ego, drawing many of his pawns to New Adasta's People's Tower. Shielding himself and the Outlander, Theron activated the weapon, incapacitating all of Vitiate's puppets except Master Surro, the Sixth Line commander and the last remaining Jedi under Vitiate's control. Possessing Surro's body, Vitiate incapacitated Theron and Lana, though the Outlander managed to free her after a prolonged fight. After evacuating as many civilians as possible, the Outlander witnessed Vitiate perform his ritual, consuming the entire planet to fuel his strength and turning it into a ravaged wasteland. The former Emperor then fled into Wild Space.

In the aftermath of the Sith Emperor's return, events escalated rapidly. As the Galactic War continued, rumors spread of twin conquerors emerging from Wild Space to bring the Republic and Empire to their knees. They successfully attacked as far into Sith space as Korriban, nearly destroying it. To end the former Sith Emperor once and for all, the new Imperial leader Darth Marr organized a small fleet of Republic and Imperial warships to venture into Wild Space. Aware of the Outlander's abilities from previous collaborations, he recruited them to assist in the expedition. As they approached the Emperor's reported location, the fleet was attacked by an infinite Eternal Fleet belonging to the unknown Eternal Empire. Unable to retaliate, Darth Marr's flagship was destroyed, with few survivors. Darth Marr and the Outlander were captured by Prince Arcann, son of Valkorion, the leader of the Empire of Zakuul.

Captured by Arcann, the Outlander and Darth Marr were brought before Emperor Valkorion, the Immortal Emperor of the Eternal Empire. Valkorion revealed himself to be the Sith Emperor's current form, having secretly built up Zakuul just as he had the Sith Empire, which he now considered as weak as the Republic. Valkorion released Marr, offering him a chance to kneel, but Marr refused and attacked, killing several of Valkorion's Knights of Zakuul before Valkorion killed him with Force lightning. Valkorion's daughter Vaylin then cleared the throne room, leaving only the Emperor, Arcann, and the Outlander. Valkorion stated that the Outlander's actions had gained his attention and offered to share his empire in exchange for their allegiance. Arcann then attempted to assassinate his father, but during the struggle, Valkorion's spirit invaded the Outlander to use as a new host, knocking them unconscious. After Valkorion's physical body died, Arcann, as the new Emperor, ordered the Outlander to be imprisoned in carbonite for assassination.

The Outlander was subsequently frozen in carbonite on Arcann's orders, who had sensed his father's spirit inhabiting the Outlander's body. However, the carbon freezing process was flawed, poisoning the Outlander. Valkorion's presence preserved their life. Valkorion appeared before the Outlander in their mind, attempting to sway them to his ideals, claiming that the Outlander had the potential to be as powerful as he was and that the current galactic institutions were unworthy of them. Valkorion revealed his intention to retake his Eternal Throne from his children, whom he was unable to stop alone. He then revealed that years had passed while they slept, during which the Eternal Empire had subjugated the galaxy. They both noticed Valkorion's daughter Vaylin looking directly at the Outlander, striking them in the chest with her lightsaber.

Following the years that totaled five after Valkorion's assassination, Lana Beniko discovered at last that the Outlander was encased in carbonite. Arcann had kept them in a fortified vault alongside his most treasured possessions. Beniko orchestrated a rescue operation, and in 3631 BBY, she, accompanied by the astromech droid T7-O1, infiltrated Zakuul's Spire. Meanwhile, their allies Koth Vortena and HK-55 remained in the shuttle, ready for a quick escape. After freeing the Outlander from the carbonite, Beniko swiftly administered an antidote. Almost immediately, they faced an attack by Skytrooper guards. With no opportunity for a detailed explanation, Beniko hurried the Outlander toward the extraction point, while T7-O1 diverted attention by triggering false alarms in other sectors. Their escape was soon discovered, and the pair found themselves fleeing from High Justice Vaylin, a Force user of immense power.

Vaylin attempted to block their escape by destabilizing a Sun Generator, compelling Beniko and the Outlander to traverse a Skytrooper factory. Despite Beniko's protests, the Outlander diverted to disable the generator, which threatened a catastrophic explosion and countless innocent lives. As Vortena encountered difficulties with their escape shuttle, Beniko and the Outlander were forced to defend themselves against two Knights of Zakuul, Novo and Tanek. Following their victory, they were cornered by Vaylin. Beniko prepared to sacrifice herself, providing the Outlander with time to escape. However, HK-55 and Vortena intervened, rescuing them in the shuttle just in the nick of time. Vaylin damaged the shuttle during their escape, which forced Vortena to crash-land in the Endless Swamp. To conceal evidence of their crash, Beniko stayed behind with Vortena, while the Outlander and HK-55 proceeded to investigate a large piece of technology that the droid detected.

Upon reaching the object, HK-55 revealed that it was not of Zakuulan origin. Vortena quickly identified it as the legendary Gravestone, the ship that had once stood alone against the Eternal Fleet. Vortena remained to work on the ship, while Beniko and the Outlander returned to the swamp in search of potable water. Beniko took the opportunity to inform the Outlander of the events of the past five years and the current standing of the major galactic factions. She also admitted to sensing an unusual presence within the Outlander. The Outlander shared the suspicion that Emperor Valkorion remained alive within their mind, an act of honesty that Beniko appreciated. The Outlander then accompanied Vortena back into the swamp to retrieve the components discarded from their shuttle, which were now crucial for restoring the ancient vessel to flight. Vortena used this opportunity to share his history in the Zakuulan military with the Outlander, thanking them for preventing the sun generator from causing destruction in the Spire.

After welcoming Zakuulan exiles aboard their newly acquired vessel, the Outlander returned to the Gravestone and joined the others in repairing it, eventually restoring its major systems. The Outlander then ventured into the Dark Sanctuary, where Valkorion appeared as a Force ghost, offering to share his power. Skytroopers and Zakuulan Knights discovered their position, so the Outlander and Beniko hurried to defend the ship as Vortena prepared for takeoff. Beniko's ally Senya Tirall arrived mid-battle to aid in the Gravestone's defense, during which the Knights used Zildrog's Wedge to isolate Beniko. Valkorion froze time and offered the Outlander his power to save the Sith, asserting that her death was otherwise unavoidable.

The Outlander declined, and Beniko sustained only a minor wound. Koth and HK-55 arrived to eliminate the remaining Zakuulan forces. With reinforcements on their way, the group focused on getting the Gravestone airborne, the Force-users using Telekinesis to lift the ancient ship from the swamp. As everyone boarded and the ship ascended, the Eternal Fleet appeared to intercept them. The Outlander fired the Gravestone's omnicannon, obliterating over two dozen Eternal Fleet warships in a single blast, allowing the Gravestone to jump into hyperspace. Tensions flared on the bridge as Koth and Senya's past conflicts hindered their ability to collaborate. Due to the damage sustained by the vessel, the group decided to stop at the Asylum shadowport for repairs.

The Gravestone arrived at the Asylum shadowport, where the Outlander was introduced to Vortena's crew, including Len Parvek and former Republic Sergeant Ralo, who recognized the Outlander from the first skirmish with the Eternal Fleet. Beniko and Tirall departed to contact their respective allies, and Vortena tasked the Outlander and HK-55 with finding his engineer Tora, who had not returned from a supply run to the Free Zone. After battling through the local gangs, the Outlander and HK-55 discovered Tora in a dispute with Tanno Vik for attempting to steal thermal detonators and insulting his mother. After resolving the issue and sending Tora back to the Gravestone, the Outlander and HK-55 proceeded to their rendezvous with Senya. Senya revealed a secret entrance, upon entering which HK-55 was struck by an electromagnetic pulse that disabled him and erased his short-term memory.

Senya explained to the perplexed Outlander that the Scions of Zakuul, led by Heskal, wished to meet with them alone to determine whether they would support the Outlander's rebellion against Arcann. Heskal stated that the Outlander remained a blind spot in the Scions' visions, and they needed to understand the Outlander's role in future events before any collaboration could be considered. Senya joined the Outlander in enduring the Scions' trials, facing combat against Scions and answering Heskal's probing questions, who insisted that Arcann and Vaylin had to die for their slaughter of the Scions. Unable to foresee the Outlander's fate, Heskal incapacitated Senya and engaged the Outlander in a one-on-one duel, during which Valkorion once again offered his power.

The Outlander emerged victorious, standing over the defeated Heskal. Senya pleaded for his life, emphasizing the need for the Scions' support. At that moment, HK-55, Lana Beniko, Koth Vortena, and his crew stormed the sanctuary, demanding that the Scions stand down. Heskal ordered his men to lower their lightsabers and asked the Outlander about their plans for the galaxy after Arcann's defeat. Following the Outlander's response, Heskal revealed that the Scions could not see the Outlander's future because Valkorion had survived within their mind. This revelation excited Koth, who believed that Valkorion's survival meant salvation for Zakuul, while Lana asserted that the Emperor was a threat to all life. As the Outlander prepared to leave, Senya confessed her hidden motive for participating in the trials, revealing herself as Arcann and Vaylin's mother.

Upon returning to the Gravestone, Koth expressed his animosity towards Senya for concealing information. HK-55 interrupted the argument, relaying a message from T7-O1 on Zakuul, stating that the information broker known as the "Lady of Sorrows" wished to communicate with the Gravestone's computers. Beniko deemed the risk of contacting the "Lady of Sorrows" worthwhile, and Senya volunteered to accompany the Outlander back to the Old World of Zakuul in a shuttle. Before their departure, Beniko requested that the Outlander set an example for Koth and Senya to cooperate. As they arrived on Zakuul in a shuttle, Senya puzzled the Outlander by singing a song, despite heading into hostile territory, after which she shared her family history. After meeting with T7-O1, Senya went to meet with her contact Reg in the Platform 6 cantina, while the Outlander and T7-O1 gathered additional information. However, the Knights were not welcome in the Old World and Reg sicced Heralds of Zildrog on Senya, who held her own against the three attackers until the Outlander arrived and helped her finish them off.

Afterwards, Senya confronted Reg, who explained that the Heralds made a deal with Arcann: in exchange for the Knights keeping out of the Old World, the Heralds would keep crime levels down. Senya demanded to know where to find the Lady of Sorrows, but Reg refused, so Senya had to use the Force to demand answers of him, and Reg gave up, pointing Senya and the Outlander to one of the Lady's business partners, Mona Gale. Senya and the Outlander found Gale at the Market Station, taking bets on Arena Grand fights. Senya asked Gale on how to contact the Lady, just as a public broadcast from Arcann labeled Senya and the Outlander as dangerous fugitives. This unintentionally gave them some street clout, as Gale admitted that she didn't know how to contact the Lady, but suggested they go to the Heralds in Breaktown to get a meeting with her. Senya and the Outlander traveled to Breaktown, but just as they were about to enter the Heralds' lair, they were interrupted by Koth Vortena, who learned of their destination from T7-O1 and decided to follow. Koth insisted that the Heralds' leader, The Exalted, detested Knights and wouldn't talk to Senya, arguing that he should accompany the Outlander instead.

The Outlander made their decision and took one of them to meet with the Exalted, while the other was ambushed and brought to the Lady directly. Unfortunately, the Exalted refused to cooperate, claiming that Arcann's fall was not the Outlander's responsibility, and was about to order his Heralds to open fire on the Outlander, but was interrupted by a holocall from Lady's Nautolan aide Thea, who told them that the Lady wished to meet the Outlander unharmed and revealing that she had the Exalted's son Brennen hostage. She invited everyone to the Razor, but the Exalted ordered his Knights to kill the Outlander just as he departed. The Outlander prevailed and followed him, but was confronted by Novo and his new partner Balisk, who wanted to avenge Tanek's death. After defeating them, the Outlander entered the base of operations of the Lady of Sorrows, who was revealed to be an advanced Artificial intelligence calling herself SCORPIO. She killed the Exalted and his Heralds and agreed to accompany the Outlander, departing Zakuul alongside Koth and Senya.

Upon reaching Asylum, SCORPIO requested complete access to the Gravestone's systems, promising to enhance the vessel's capabilities. However, the crew hesitated to grant her such access. Koth Vortena instructed SCORPIO to prioritize the hyperdrive, which she accepted. Lana Beniko recognized SCORPIO as a former operative of Imperial Intelligence, advising the Outlander to remain cautious around her. While SCORPIO worked on the Gravestone, Beniko informed the Outlander of her contacts within the Imperial and Republic factions, who were willing to join their resistance against the Eternal Throne. Heskal then summoned the Outlander back to the Scions' hideout, and Beniko cautioned them to be wary of the Scions, deeming the zealots unpredictable.

Accompanied by T7-O1, the Outlander returned to the Scions Enclave, discovering the bodies of the Scions at Heskal's feet, before Arcann stabbed Heskal from behind. Arcann explained that Heskal had revealed the Outlander's location to him in accordance with a prophecy. He proposed a deal, requesting that the Outlander return to carbonite until Arcann could exorcise his father from their mind and surrender the Gravestone, promising the crew's safe departure. However, Valkorion warned the Outlander of Arcann's impending betrayal, leading to a confrontation. The Eternal Fleet emerged from hyperspace and bombarded the shadowport, and a shuttle, shot down by SCORPIO with the Gravestone cannons, crashed into the Scions hideout, allowing the Outlander to escape the fight with Arcann.

After receiving a call from Beniko, the Outlander and T7-O1 raced back to the Gravestone, encountering a trio of Zakuul Knights carrying the mortally wounded Heskal. Heskal confirmed Arcann's truthfulness, and with his dying breath, he claimed to have seen the future and found it wonderful, before passing away. The Outlander and T7-O1 returned to the Gravestone, where Beniko informed them that Arcann's forces had seized control of the docking clamps securing the Gravestone. Vaylin led the Eternal Empire forces besieging their position, but Senya intervened and engaged her daughter, allowing Beniko and the Outlander to retreat and join Koth Vortena. Beniko volunteered to defend a choke point, enabling Vortena and the Outlander to reach the Control Spar and disable the docking clamps.

Vortena piloted a shuttle with himself and the Outlander to the Control Spar, inquiring about Valkorion along the way. After reuniting with HK-55 and eliminating Captain Lazna Delothrea, Vortena and the bodyguard droid remained to fend off a battalion of Zakuul Knights. Meanwhile, the Outlander reached the Control Spar and released the docking clamps, only to be attacked once again by Arcann, who destroyed HK-55 beyond repair. Valkorion offered to share his power, but was refused, and Arcann stabbed the Outlander with his lightsaber. Despite enduring significant physical trauma, the Outlander survived and escaped the confrontation with Arcann, returning to the Gravestone by shuttle as the vessel took off. The ship escaped the Eternal Fleet into hyperspace, just as the Outlander collapsed from their injuries. The Outlander awoke later, informed by Beniko that HK-55 had been destroyed beyond repair.

The Battle of Asylum galvanized opposition to Arcann, and Beniko invited her contacts from the Sith Empire, the Republic, and the criminal underworld to gather on Odessen, a remote and undeveloped planet. There, she established an Alliance against the Eternal Empire, appointing the Outlander as the Alliance Commander and establishing the Alliance base on Odessen. Theron Shan, an old associate of the Commander, joined the new Alliance and immediately began addressing critical issues, assembling a team of specialists that included former Republic Admiral Bey'wan Aygo, renowned smuggler captain Hylo Visz, Hutt scientist Juvard Illip Oggurobb, and Sana-Rae of the Voss Mystics.

While others relaxed in the new Alliance cantina, Senya Tirall congratulated the Alliance Commander on the progress made, while musing about how many Scions followed Heskal to their deaths. Senya also revealed to the Commander that Vaylin told her the circumstances of Thexan's death at Arcann's hands, which reaffirmed her belief that her children had to be stopped at any cost. After she left, Valkorion asked the Commander their thoughts on the path leading to this moment. The Commander immediately took an active role in expanding the fledgling Alliance, working with Theron Shan and Miot Dengd to neutralize Zakuulan Star Fortresses orbiting Alderaan, Belsavis, Nar Shaddaa, Hoth, Tatooine, and Voss.

The Commander also pursued promising recruits identified by the Alliance specialists, including renowned scientist Eckard Lokin, Jawa scavenger Blizz, the leader of the Warstalkers Qyzen Fess, Sith Lord Xalek, failed Jedi Padawan Languss Tuno, Republic Provost Marshal Fideltin Rusk, Imperial Reclamation Service Lieutenant Talos Drellik, Dashade warrior Ak'ghal Usar, legendary smuggler Nico Okarr, Wookiee gladiator Bowdaar and a Gand Findsman Yuun.

While seeking out potential allies, Theron Shan suggested that the Alliance recruit "Firebrand," a known anarchist who had been independently operating on Zakuul for more than two years. Although Koth Vortena was reluctant to recruit a terrorist, Theron and Lana argued that Firebrand could offer valuable insights into Zakuul and connections to the local population. Theron accompanied the Commander to a meeting arranged by SCORPIO under the false pretense of high-yield explosives. Upon arriving at the Spire on Zakuul, Theron and the Commander found Firebrand at an abandoned tram station, under attack by Skytroopers led by Security Commander Towen Sor. After dispatching her attackers, they approached Firebrand, who aimed her blaster at her rescuers and introduced herself as Kaliyo Djannis.

She agreed to consider the Commander's proposal in exchange for assistance with her current operation, which Theron permitted, departing to meet a contact of his own. Together, the Commander and Kaliyo planted ion grenades into Power Junctions 353, 754, and K-H82 throughout the Old World and Breaktown. Along the way, Kaliyo revealed that her only goal was to target the Overwatch, from which the Commander could obtain complete schematics of the Spire. Afterwards, the two waited in Kaliyo's apartment, detonating all three junctions simultaneously during the power grid cycle, which compromised the Overwatch security. They traveled to Overwatch in Kaliyo's speeder and stormed the facility, eventually reaching the control room where Kaliyo planted her explosives at the droid controls while the Commander downloaded the Spire's schematics.

Overwatch Administrator Tayvor Slen showed up with the skytroopers, attempting an intervention, but he was ultimately defeated and suffered fatal injuries during the confrontation. In his final moments, Kaliyo taunted Tayvor about his failed attempts to control her, revealing that she manipulated his daughter, Alianna Slen, into strategically placing explosives throughout the city. Kaliyo then disclosed to the Commander her plan to not just disable the droids, but to detonate multiple explosives around the Spire, aiming to trigger mass panic and plunge it into complete disarray. The Commander successfully talked Kaliyo out of harming innocent people, convincing her to limit the destruction to the droid controls. Following this, they both fled the Spire, evading the Knights of Zakuul who had arrived to stop them. Kaliyo accompanied the Commander to the Alliance base on Odessen, deciding to remain with the Alliance. Simultaneously, Arcann, in an attempt to draw the Outlander out of hiding, commanded the Eternal Fleet reprisal bombardments on five inhabited planets, reducing them to ruins and causing the deaths of millions.

Later, Theron shared some of the Spire data with his former SIS associate, Jonas Balkar, who subsequently provided it to the Republic Special Forces Division Havoc Squad, persuading them to take unauthorized leave for a clandestine operation on Zakuul. Aware that he risked losing his SIS connections if Havoc were caught committing what was essentially treason, Theron requested the Commander to revisit Zakuul to aid Havoc in their mission. Their discussion with Havoc Squad, led by Major Aric Jorgan, in the Endless Swamp was disrupted when Zakuulan forces detected them. Jorgan ordered the group to scatter and reconvene at a prearranged location, partnering with the Alliance Commander. While eliminating Skytroopers from a distance, Jorgan inquired about the Commander's views on the Eternal Emperor Arcann, before detailing the Republic's descent into tyranny and corruption under former Chancellor Leontyne Saresh and her puppet, Jebevel Madon.

Observing civilians fleeing from skytroopers, Jorgan and the Commander rescued a group of Zakuulan exiles and prevented the droids from setting their homes ablaze, before meeting with their leader, Pashna Veyaad. Determined not to abandon the civilians, Jorgan radioed ahead, instructing Havoc to prepare their camp for the refugees, while he and the Commander cleared a path for them. Upon arriving at the camp, Jorgan instructed Kanner to settle the refugees and commended the Commander for saving lives that day, urging everyone to rest. The following morning, Jorgan explained to the Commander and Theron Shan that their objective was to install a wiretap on a listening post used by the Knights of Zakuul, enabling Havoc to monitor their communications.

To create a significant diversion for the attack, the Commander orchestrated one using Alliance personnel and proceeded with Havoc towards their primary target. While the rest of the squad maintained their cover, Jorgan and the Commander successfully infiltrated the outpost, planting the wiretap. However, on their way out, they were surrounded by skytrooper reinforcements. Fortunately, Zakuulan exiles, led by Pashna Veyaad, came to their rescue, eliminating several shuttles full of reinforcements with rocket launchers, allowing Havoc to eliminate the remaining enemy forces. With their mission accomplished, Jorgan expressed to the Commander his aspiration to train the exiles into a formidable resistance force. Alongside Major Jorgan and Theron Shan, the Alliance Commander returned to Odessen, where SCORPIO combined the information from the listening post and the Spire's schematics, revealing the existence of the GEMINI frequency, the means by which Arcann controlled his Eternal Fleet.

Later, the Alliance uncovered a hyperwave relay station located ten kilometers beneath the Spire on Zakuul, connecting the Eternal Throne to the Eternal Fleet. However, they disagreed on the course of action upon reaching it: Lana wanted to hack the GEMINI frequency to uncover Arcann's plans, Kaliyo desired to seize control of it, and Jorgan aimed to destroy it to sever Arcann's control over the Fleet. The Commander dispatched Havoc Squad and Kaliyo Djannis on the mission, with one group providing a distraction for the other's main objective. Before the Commander could leave to lead them, Beniko suggested contacting Valkorion for guidance on infiltrating the facility he had built. The Commander chose to do so in a secluded area of the Odessen wilderness, but Valkorion refused to share any of his secrets, much to the Commander's frustration.

Suddenly, Valkorion rendered the Outlander unconscious. Upon awakening, the Commander attempted to contact the base, only to find that all communication had been severed. Valkorion revealed that he had lured the Commander into the wilderness to allow them to experience the feeling of facing death alone. After battling past hostile shade stalkers, the Commander encountered Valkorion's Force ghost, who expressed disappointment in the Commander's lack of progress. Valkorion informed the Commander that they had two possible destinies: in one, the Commander would defeat Arcann and claim the Eternal Throne to reshape the galaxy; in the other, the Commander would die alone and forgotten. They engaged in combat before Valkorion overpowered his host and departed the Outlander's mind to attend to his other plans, imbuing his host with a portion of his power, which caused the Commander to lose consciousness again.

The Commander later awoke on an unfamiliar starship, which they soon discovered belonged to Jedi Grand Master Satele Shan, who had been on Odessen for some time. Satele revealed that she was working with the Force ghost of Darth Marr, and together they offered the Commander insight into Arcann and his Knights, who held a different perspective on the Force than the Jedi and Sith. Following their instructions, the Commander gathered items around the valley before venturing into a dark cave, where they encountered and battled Vaylin. After the Commander defeated her, "Vaylin" vanished, revealed to be merely an illusion. Marr and Satele then explained that the illusion served as a warning, indicating that Arcann and Vaylin commanded an army. Marr stated that the Commander's current weapon was inadequate, leading the Commander to realize that the collected items were intended to create a new weapon. The Commander proceeded to construct it at a nearby altar, infused with pure Force energy.

Marr declared that the new weapon would overwhelm Arcann and unite the galaxy, but cautioned that leading the Alliance differed significantly from the Commander's previous role in the Galactic War. At Satele's direction, the Commander left the cave to find an oasis for their final trial, killing two young cave jurgorans, which angered their mother when the Commander arrived at the oasis. After the Commander resolved the conflict, Marr and Satele departed Odessen, experiencing a calling from the Force. The Commander then returned to the Alliance base by scaling the cliffs, discovering that Havoc Squad and Kaliyo Djannis were already engaged in the intended operation. However, the situation quickly deteriorated as contact with the infiltration team was lost, prompting the diversion team to attempt a rescue. At that moment, the Spire went into complete lockdown, with no transmissions entering or leaving, rendering any rescue attempt virtually impossible and leaving the Alliance leadership with no option but to wait.

While Lana and Koth relaxed in the Alliance cantina, Theron Shan informed the Commander that Hylo Visz wanted to speak with them. Hylo explained that the Alliance was facing financial difficulties and invited the Commander to meet her ex, a Devaronian con artist named Gault Rennow. Gault presented the Commander with a proposal to raid the Gilded Star, an Eternal Empire treasury ship concealed within the atmosphere of the gas giant Vandin. The Commander agreed to the plan and accompanied Gault to Vandin, along with Lana Beniko, Theron Shan, Senya Tirall, and SCORPIO. Upon arriving at the gas giant's Tibanna mining platform, Gault led the Commander in search of the hiding container Dretcher, an Anomid identity slicer.

Immediately recognizing Gault as Tyresius Lokai, Dretcher activated his battle droids and attempted to eliminate the Devaronian. However, Gault and the Commander easily destroyed the droids, and despite Dretcher's container boasting reinforced armor, Gault threatened to shake him to death with a sonic amplifier. Dretcher had no choice but to allow the Devaronian inside and agree to perform his task in exchange for finally getting Tyresius off his back. Gault and the Commander then attended the meeting with the Brekken Gang and its Captain, Kenrik Fost. After requesting to inspect his missile, Gault announced his refusal to pay for it and, after the Niktos raised their weapons, activated the warhead. The Nikto fled, attempting to escape the blast radius, but Gault was unable to stop the countdown, which reached zero, revealing his Twi'lek partner, Vette, inside the missile, who had already removed the warhead beforehand. Gault then gathered the entire team at their hideout and outlined his complete plan to infiltrate the ship.

Dretcher would assume the identity of High Justice Vaylin for her mother, Senya Tirall, who provided a genetic match and required character knowledge. SCORPIO would accompany her as her "attaché droid." They would gain access to the bridge, lowering security and allowing Vette, Gault, and the Commander to board and place the warhead inside the vault. When the Gilded Star arrived for its annual resupply, the team moved into position. Dretcher's holographic disguise was successful, allowing Senya to board under the identity of her daughter. From the bridge, SCORPIO opened the path to the vault for Gault and the Alliance Commander, while Vette used her stealth skills to disable the vault's security mechanisms. Inside the vault, Gault planted the missile warhead, which, upon detonation, vaporized its entire content of precious metals while leaving everything outside the vault safe and intact. The vault's entire content of precious metals was then pumped into the tanker piloted by Lana Beniko and Theron Shan, while SCORPIO and Senya soon joined them.

Gault, Vette, and the Commander encountered some challenges when the only remaining escape route was to take the Skyhook down the way they came, but their path was blocked by the real Vaylin, who arrived for an inspection. Determined to avoid confronting her, Gault suggested exiting onto the ship's hull, where he received a call from Hylo Visz. His former partner positioned her shuttle next to the hull of the Gilded Star, allowing Gault, Vette, and the Commander to jump directly onto her vessel, while the rest of their team departed on board Beniko's tanker. Upon returning to Odessen, Gault and Vette expressed their desire to join the Alliance, but the celebration was interrupted by the return of Aric Jorgan and Kaliyo Djannis, who had managed to escape Zakuul with a database on the GEMINI droids, although four of Havoc Squad's six members were lost in the process. Hoping to salvage the situation, Beniko instructed SCORPIO to analyze the data archive.

SCORPIO revealed to the Alliance leadership that the GEMINI droids were based on her and were produced from a template called GEMINI Prime stored in a weapons factory on Darvannis. Obtaining the Prime could be the key to taking control of the GEMINI and the Eternal Fleet, but the Alliance did not yet possess sufficient forces for a major assault. Theron Shan responded by calling in a favor from Shae Vizla, now known as Mandalore the Avenger. The Commander traveled to Darvannis, where Vizla's Mandalorian clan was eager for both revenge against the Eternal Empire and an opportunity to rearm themselves with the spoils from the Darvannis factory. Vizla's second-in-command, Khomo Fett, was dismissive of the newcomer, but the Mandalore gave the Commander a chance to prove themselves, pairing them with a scout, Torian Cadera. Torian assisted the Commander in capturing the perimeter guns and reprogramming them to target the weapons factory.

When Breyer Chorn reported that he and his men were being overwhelmed by Skytroopers, Torian declared that there was no honor in being killed by machines and attempted to target Chorn's location for an artillery strike, killing the warriors along with the droids, before being stopped by the Alliance Commander. Upon returning to camp, the Commander was informed by Vizla that the fighting would resume the next day after her troops had rested, and the Mandalorians held a Kote ky'ram for their fallen comrades. The following morning, Torian again joined the Commander in neutralizing the enemy forces at the Zakuulan listening post in preparation for the main assault. There, Beniko contacted the Commander and relayed detailed schematics of the factory obtained by Theron to aid in the assault, while also cautioning the Commander about a long-term alliance with the Mandalorians, comparing them to wild animals craving violence. With the factory's power stations seized by Clan Beroya and Clan Fett warriors, Shae Vizla gathered the warriors to rally them before the final assault.

The main Mandalorian force advanced into the factory to claim as many weapons as possible, while Torian accompanied the Commander on a mission to secure the GEMINI Prime. Inside the factory, Torian revealed that he had overheard the previous conversation between the Commander and Lana Beniko and insisted that the Mandalorians were not animals, but warriors with a sense of honor. The Commander located the GEMINI Prime and established a link with SCORPIO, which piqued the Prime's curiosity. The Commander successfully removed the droid from her alcove, while the Mandalorians retreated from the factory. In the aftermath of the battle, Torian asked the Mandalore to join the Alliance as her representative, and after his request was granted, traveled to the Alliance base on Odessen along with the Alliance Commander. With GEMINI Prime in her possession, SCORPIO analyzed the template and easily cracked the droid's internal protocols due to their similar designs. SCORPIO explained to the Commander that by plugging the Prime into the captain's console on any warship in the Eternal Fleet, she could take control of the entire network, and with it, the Eternal Fleet. Identifying a lone warship scheduled to recharge its hyperdrive as their target, the Alliance moved to intercept it.

Vortena piloted the Gravestone to the location of the Eternal Fleet warship and remained aboard to jam its communications and safeguard the GEMINI Prime. SCORPIO disrupted the vessel's targeting systems, allowing Theron Shan to board a shuttle with a strike team consisting of Beniko, Tirall, SCORPIO, and the Commander inside its hangar. The GEMINI captain noticed their presence before being distracted by SCORPIO, noting their physical similarities. She then activated a set of blast doors, separating the Commander and SCORPIO from Lana, Senya, and Theron. While en route to a rendezvous point, SCORPIO discovered a data note and plugged herself in, establishing a direct link with the ship's GEMINI captain. She announced her intention to erase the GEMINI, but the captain overloaded SCORPIO's circuits and destroyed her chassis. This temporarily disrupted the Gravestone's jamming signal, allowing the GEMINI Captain to inform Emperor Arcann of the intruders.

Lana Beniko contacted the Commander and informed them of a change in plans, sending Senya to escort the Commander to her and Theron's location. The Commander informed Lana of SCORPIO's demise, which relieved the Sith Lord, who believed that the droid would inevitably pose a problem. Upon the Commander's arrival, Lana explained that the ship was transporting prisoners for Arcann to interrogate: Imperial Admiral Zasha Ranken, Republic Senator Tai Cordan, and Zakuulan holostar-in-exile Malita Tal. Inspired by the Commander, the trio had united in their search for the Alliance, forming an alliance of their own, but Arcann had captured them and intended to "interview" them regarding the Commander's whereabouts. Lana and Theron escorted the freed prisoners to the escape pods, while Senya and the Commander confronted and defeated the GEMINI captain.

Acknowledging her defeat, the GEMINI revealed that her encounter with SCORPIO had granted her free will, before transferring her consciousness into the frequency and triggering the ship's self-destruct. With power fluctuating wildly, Theron asked the Commander which escape pods to launch first, but they were only able to launch two, while the third exploded, killing everyone inside and devastating Theron. The Alliance leadership barely escaped the vessel's destruction as Arcann and Vaylin arrived with the Eternal Fleet. The Gravestone escaped into hyperspace, while GEMINI Prime had completely shut down. SCORPIO then contacted the Commander, revealing that she had faked her death, using the GEMINI network to transport herself to Zakuul, where she seized control of the Eternal Throne.

Upon returning to Odessen, the Commander learned that a portion of the Eternal Fleet remained under Arcann's control. SCORPIO then called and explained that she had revealed Odessen's location to Arcann to test whether he would reclaim his throne or immediately confront the Commander and Valkorion. With the Eternal Fleet approaching, the Commander left behind some forces in case of a ground assault, while taking the fight to Arcann on the Gravestone. As the battle of Odessen commenced, Beniko determined that the only way to ensure the Alliance's safety was to destroy Arcann's Eternal Flagship, disabling its shields and weapons. Lana, Senya, and others accompanied the Commander in the infiltration of the flagship, where, upon seeing her mother on the security cameras, Vaylin contacted them and revealed that Arcann was on the ship's bridge, while also luring Senya away to confront her personally.

As they proceeded to confront Arcann on the bridge, Lana was informed by Theron that the rest of the Eternal Fleet had turned against Arcann and was now targeting his flagship to eliminate both him and the Commander. Upon reaching the bridge, Beniko stayed behind to engage a squad of Zakuul Knights, leaving the Commander to face Arcann alone. Arcann claimed that his animosity had always been directed at Valkorion, not the Commander, and demanded his father to answer him. A frustrated Emperor telekinetically forced the Commander to their knees and attempted to strike them down, but the Commander unconsciously used Tutaminis to block his attacks. Arcann remarked that Valkorion's bond with the Outlander was stronger than he had imagined. Arcann then engaged the Commander and conjured Force manifestations to assist him, while the Outlander picked up a discarded Knight's shield to absorb their attacks and bash Arcann. Ultimately overpowering Arcann, the Commander could have delivered the final blow, but falling debris from the Eternal Fleet's barrage separated them and seemingly crushed Arcann, forcing the Commander to retreat before the flagship exploded.

The Commander informed Lana that Arcann was defeated, and Beniko and the rest of the infiltration team were in the hangar prepared to leave, though there was no sign of Senya Tirall. As the ship was disintegrating, Beniko and her team commandeered a Zakuulan shuttle, while the Commander narrowly escaped in a Zakuulan starfighter. On their way back to the Gravestone, Senya contacted them and revealed that she was alive and so was Arcann, whom she was taking away in the hopes of redeeming him. Vortena pleaded with the Commander to shoot her down, but Tirall and Arcann escaped nonetheless. At that point, Theron Shan fired the omnicannon on the Eternal Flagship, creating a massive explosion that destroyed the remaining portion of the Eternal Fleet and secured victory for the Alliance. Back on Odessen, Beniko assured the Commander that despite the betrayals they had endured, the Battle of Odessen had become the rallying point the Alliance needed for all forces seeking to oppose the Eternal Empire, bolstering their ranks and enabling them to repel future invasions. Valkorion also manifested himself before the Commander once again.

With Arcann no longer in the picture, his sister Vaylin forged an alliance with SCORPIO and declared herself the new Eternal Empress. She then embarked on a destructive rampage across the galaxy, driven by her quest to find her family. This pursuit brought her to Voss, where she initiated a full-scale attack in an attempt to force her family out of hiding. Theron Shan and Sana-Rae, who were on Voss meeting with a contact, found themselves caught in the midst of the assault, prompting them to alert the Alliance, which then mobilized its fleet. As the Alliance fleet engaged the Eternal Fleet in an intercept operation, Beniko piloted a Zakuulan shuttle, transporting the Commander, Torian Cadera, and a squad of Mandalorian warriors to the planet's surface. Their mission was to break the siege of the capital city, Voss-Ka. Amidst the chaos of the burning city, Beniko and the Commander battled Skytroopers, striving to reach the northern city plateau before its complete annihilation. From there, they proceeded to the Tower of Prophecy, where Theron Shan and Sana-Rae awaited their arrival.

After successfully defending their position against Vaylin's Horizon Guards, they received a holotransmission from Senya. She was at the Shrine of Healing, hoping the Voss Mystics could restore her son's body and spirit. She implored the Alliance for assistance, expressing her belief that Arcann would ultimately join their cause. Acknowledging the necessity of neutralizing Arcann by any means, Beniko led the Mandalorians toward the Shrine, while the Commander and Theron separately traversed the Old Paths aboard Torian's walker, Storm Rider. Upon reaching the Shrine of Healing, Theron and the Commander reunited with Senya, who reiterated her plea for Arcann's healing. However, Vaylin, having discovered the location of her family, commanded the Eternal Fleet to bombard the Shrine. The Commander instructed Lana and the Mandalorians to protect the Shrine, granting Senya the time she needed, and collapsed a tunnel behind them to impede the pursuing Skytroopers.

By the time the Commander and Theron arrived at Senya's location, she had already instructed the Mystics to utilize her strength to heal her son through a Voss healing ritual, leaving him in a comatose state. Theron remained to care for Senya, while the Commander and Lana pursued the escaping Arcann to his shuttle, but they were unable to prevent his departure. At this point, Vaylin had ordered the Eternal Fleet to obliterate her family, disregarding the casualties on Voss. However, the tide of the battle shifted with the arrival of the Imperial fleet, which drove back the Eternal Fleet. Valkorion once again manipulated time, urging the Commander to pursue Arcann, eliminate Vaylin, and claim the Eternal Throne. Subsequently, Sith Empress Darth Acina greeted the Alliance Commander and extended an invitation to Dromund Kaas to discuss a potential alliance against Vaylin.

Accompanied by Lana and Theron, the Commander journeyed to Dromund Kaas, arriving in Kaas City. There, Valkorion expressed his regret for spending too much time on a world he deemed unworthy of saving. They were greeted by Gelmid Lorman, who identified himself as the new Minister of Logistics after Beniko addressed him by his former title of Moff. Lorman escorted them to Acina, who insisted on a private conversation with the Commander aboard her personal shuttle. The Commander agreed, leaving Lana and Theron behind to monitor Lorman. Once airborne and away from prying eyes, Acina stated that traditionalist Sith would disapprove of the alliance she was proposing and acknowledged Vaylin as the true threat. She assured the Commander that her offer of partnership was sincere and that she had no intention of seizing the Eternal Throne for herself.

Their conversation was abruptly halted by an engine malfunction, forcing Acina to make an emergency landing and abandon the shuttle. Stranded in the Dromund Kaas wilderness with their communications mysteriously disrupted, Acina suspected sabotage. She and the Commander were compelled to confront the planet's perilous wildlife and lightning storms, navigating the terrain to reach the crashed shuttle in hopes of retrieving the emergency beacon. A group was already lying in wait for them, identifying themselves as the GenoHaradan, a group the Empress had always considered a myth. However, the legendary assassins proved no match for the Alliance Commander and the Sith Empress, as the pair swiftly dealt with them and located their camp. After clearing the camp, the Commander discovered a holorecording from former Republic Supreme Chancellor Leontyne Saresh, who was revealed as the one who ordered the hit. Suddenly, a gunship appeared and opened fire, forcing Empress Acina and the Commander to seek refuge in a nearby Sith tomb, where the entrance was collapsed by the barrage, and Valkorion once again remarked on how these ancient resting places of Sith Lords never truly held the secret of immortality.

As the pair ventured deeper into the tomb, the Empress and the Commander encountered the treacherous Minister Lorman, who was responsible for the shuttle sabotage, and a GenoHaradan strike team intent on completing their mission. After eliminating the GenoHaradan, Lorman claimed to have taken Lana and Theron hostage and attempted to contact his men, only to discover that his supposed hostages had already dealt with them. Acina offered the Commander the choice to decide Lorman's fate, and Theron informed the Commander that Saresh was en route to Odessen in an attempt to seize control of the Alliance. The Commander swiftly traveled to Odessen, where Saresh was delivering a speech to the Alliance personnel. Upon spotting the Commander, she panicked and attempted to flee, but Beniko blocked her escape route, and the Commander ordered Saresh's imprisonment, much to Theron's approval. Subsequently, Acina contacted the Commander again, extending a formal offer of alliance.

Despite Saresh's neutralization, SCORPIO and Vaylin exploited the chaos she caused to secretly board and seize control of the Gravestone. Koth Vortena managed to escape capture and provided the Alliance with his coordinates, prompting the Alliance fleet to move to intercept. Lana Beniko and the Commander infiltrated the Gravestone via a boarding pod and eliminated Skytrooper patrols along their path to Vortena. Koth revealed that Vaylin's forces risked triggering the quantum bomb he had installed as a precaution against SCORPIO, and the Commander joined him in deactivating the fuses, while Beniko created a diversion. After disarming several fuses, Vortena and the Commander reached the bridge, only to find it devoid of Vaylin and her forces.

Vortena deactivated the bomb from the bridge console and instructed Len Parvek to evacuate Tora and the rest of his crew in escape pods. SCORPIO then contacted the Commander, revealing that she was aware of the quantum bomb and had manipulated Vaylin into leaving the bridge so that Vortena could disarm it. SCORPIO also informed the Commander that Lana Beniko was trapped by Vaylin in the Dark Sanctuary, where the bomb was hidden. The Commander and Vortena arrived just in time to save Beniko from Vaylin's lightsaber, but their confrontation still triggered the bomb. As the Commander engaged Vaylin, who was about to deliver a fatal blow, Valkorion intervened and stopped time, as he had done before, although this time Vaylin was able to resist his control. She was about to strike the Commander when Valkorion uttered the phrase "Kneel before the Dragon of Zakuul," activating her secret conditioning and rendering her powerless to strike. Unable to fight, Vaylin turned and fled, giving Vortena the opportunity to disarm the bomb while the Commander disabled the power relays to prevent its premature detonation.

Just as Theron Shan arrived with Kaliyo Djannis, Aric Jorgan, Torian Cadera, and Vette as reinforcements by landing an Alliance shuttle inside the hangar, SCORPIO seized control of the Gravestone, sending it to an unknown location and locking the hyperdrive. Converging on the bridge, the Alliance forces witnessed the vessel jump out of hyperspace in an unknown system, surrounded by the entirety of the Eternal Fleet. SCORPIO abandoned the ship in her shuttle and contacted the Commander again, revealing that the GEMINI droids were not imitations of her technology but were related to her, as were the Eternal Fleet and the Gravestone. SCORPIO revealed their point of origin within the Gravestone and brought them all there, thanking the Commander for aiding their journey and warning them that Vaylin and her remaining forces were sabotaging everything on the Gravestone. Vortena and the Commander rushed to the omnicannon, but in their absence, Vaylin returned to the bridge and overpowered both Kaliyo and Aric Jorgan. She threatened to kill Torian and Vette but was unable to harm anyone before a blinding white light engulfed the ship.

The Commander awoke on the surface of the strange world, unable to contact anyone from the Alliance and surrounded by hostile droids. The Commander examined several technoliths, eventually learning from the hologram of ARIES that they were in the Selruvian biome of the artificial world designated Iokath. Torian then approached the Commander, explaining that he had awoken in the same situation, and the two observed the Iokath droids attacking the Knights of Zakuul, realizing that personnel from the Eternal Fleet had also been brought to the planet. Theron Shan then contacted the Commander and Torian, directing them to a structure called the Tributary, where the rest of the Alliance forces had already gathered. With everyone assembled in one place, the Commander checked on the Alliance personnel, eventually approaching Vette.

The Twi'lek shared her findings with the Commander, prompting ARIES to reveal a list of planets that the Iokath creators had used to test their weapons, which included Zakuul. Their connection to ARIES was then interrupted by SCORPIO, who was imprisoned at an unknown location and requested the Commander's assistance. Their group's position came under attack from the droids again, and Theron Shan activated the force field, preventing more droids from entering but also trapping the Alliance inside. Vette interacted with the technolith again, attempting to restore ARIES to operation but instead opening a door deeper into the structure. She and the Commander proceeded to explore, eventually discovering another technolith. Vette instructed the Commander on how to restore power to open the light bridge in their path, explaining that they were in Necropolis, a vast crypt housing millions of corpses.

SCORPIO contacted the Commander again, revealing the history of Iokath and explaining that ARIES controlled everything on Iokath, including their current predicament, before a swarm of droids arrived to confirm her claims. The Commander and Vette fought off their attackers, but their access to both the technolith and their original entry point was blocked, forcing Vette to search for another secret tunnel. On their return to the group, they encountered another holonode, from which SCORPIO contacted the Commander again, alerting them that Vaylin had broken free and located the Eternal Fleet, before informing them about a colossus droid preparing to attack them. Vette noticed that the droid was drawing power from energy conduits, and the Commander disabled them, allowing them to deactivate the droid just as the rest of the group caught up.

Theron Shan realized that, despite being unable to locate the Gravestone, he could still use his cranial implant to remotely pilot the Alliance shuttle that remained in its hangar. To create a distraction from the droids outside, the team repaired the colossus droid, leaving the Commander to pilot it against its weaker but more numerous counterparts, while the others went to the Tributary roof. The Commander dealt with the droids, but the colossus sustained damage, requiring the Commander to eject. With everyone safely aboard the shuttle, Theron took off, but before they could escape, SCORPIO contacted the group again, revealing that ARIES had raised an energy shield that would destroy any vessel attempting to leave. With ARIES recharging the weapon that had incapacitated them previously and threatening to use it again on a lethal setting, the only option was to stop ARIES.

SCORPIO revealed the location of ARIES base, and Theron dropped off Vette and the Commander there to confront ARIES, while the others went to reclaim the Gravestone. The Commander and Vette confronted and engaged ARIES, and SCORPIO herself arrived to assist in defeating him. She then lowered the energy shield and urged the Commander to escape before the capacitors on ARIES' weapon overloaded, threatening to engulf the entire world in a pulse of deadly radiation. SCORPIO announced her intention to upload her consciousness into the planetary network, essentially becoming one with Iokath. Given that this would prevent her from threatening the Alliance or the galaxy again, the Commander allowed her to proceed, and SCORPIO thanked them before permanently abandoning her droid body, while also sending the Alliance schematics for upgrading the Gravestone with Iokath technology. The Commander and Vette hurried back to the Gravestone, which barely escaped to hyperspace before the weapon overloaded, as did Vaylin with most of the Eternal Fleet. Upon returning to the safety of Odessen, Beniko assured the Commander that the Alliance was stronger than ever, with the Gravestone secure and SCORPIO out of the picture, but Iokath remained inaccessible for the time being.

An opportunity to strike directly at Vaylin arose when Theron located an informant on Zakuul. Indo Zal, an Alliance sympathizer and Vaylin's Magistrate of Revelry, informed the Commander about the upcoming Grand Festival of Empress Vaylin, where the Empress planned to execute a group of Zakuulan rebels. Theron vouched for Indo, who proposed providing disguises and security clearances for the Alliance to infiltrate the party, then instigate a revolt among the prisoners, creating enough chaos for the Commander to approach Vaylin and activate her conditioning. Theron volunteered to accompany the Commander inside the Palace of the Eternal Dragon, while Lana and T7-O1 provided remote support from a shuttle serving as their getaway vehicle. Arriving on Zakuul disguised as two Knights of Zakuul, Theron and the Commander entered the Palace and met Indo, who provided them with Ion charges to be placed throughout the Palace, allowing them to be detonated simultaneously and disable the rebels' shock collars.

Theron and the Commander navigated the Palace security, planting all six charges, after which Lana informed them that Vaylin was commencing her speech. Discarding their disguises, Theron and the Commander entered the main hall, where the Commander triggered the ion charges and activated Vaylin's conditioning, rendering her unable to retaliate. However, their confrontation with Vaylin was interrupted by Arcann, who arrived with a group of his loyalists, intending to reclaim the Eternal Throne from his sister. Before retreating from the scene, Vaylin dropped the rebel prisoners and Indo Zal into the creature pit, and Theron and the Commander had to follow. After slaying a Rancor named Junior, the Commander instructed Indo to retreat with the rebels, after which they and Theron pursued Vaylin, who was battling her brother on the balcony.

The arrival of Theron and the Commander disrupted the duel between siblings, allowing Vaylin to escape on a speeder bike. To the Commander's surprise, Arcann had indeed been healed on Voss and addressed them peacefully, no longer consumed by hatred and anger. After Theron questioned his trustworthiness, Arcann assisted him and the Commander in fighting the Horizon Guards who arrived to kill them. Arcann then offered to join the Alliance to atone for the bloodshed under his reign, and the Commander agreed to accept him. Enraged by her brother's betrayal, Vaylin ordered the Eternal Fleet to bombard the entire Palace into rubble, and Lana arrived with the shuttle just in time to bring the Commander, Theron, and Arcann to safety. Upon their return to Odessen, Arcann was initially regarded as an enemy by the Alliance personnel, many of whom had suffered under his rule for years and joined the Alliance to oppose him in the first place. However, the Commander insisted that having the former Eternal Emperor on their side was beneficial for both morale and for exerting additional pressure on Vaylin.

The bond between the Commander and Valkorion grew stronger, allowing the Commander to glimpse Valkorion's memories of Vaylin's return to Zakuul after her conditioning on Nathema, and Valkorion suggested that Vaylin may have found a way to break her bonds in the place they were created. Vaylin had indeed disappeared, and Arcann confirmed that Nathema was a planet in the Chorlian sector, from where a transmission to Vaylin was detected during the Festival. With all signs indicating that Vaylin had indeed returned to Nathema, Arcann remained to watch over the still comatose Senya, while the Commander, Theron, and Lana set out to stop his sister. Theron piloted the shuttle to Nathema, and Lana began experiencing the effects of the Force void even before setting foot on the planet. Even Valkorion found his power diminished in this place, although he promised to shield the Commander and Beniko from its worst effects.

Navigating the planet's surface, rendered lifeless since the Ritual of Nathema over a millennium ago, the Commander and Beniko reached the Sanitarium, the only structure still exhibiting signs of life on the planet, with Vaylin already inside. Eliminating several Horizon Guards, Nathema Zealots, and Keepers, the two explored the inner workings of the Sanitarium, learning about Vaylin's past there from holorecording left by Anomid named Jarak. Meanwhile, the ritual to break Vaylin's bonds when out of control, with Vaylin's power vaporising those in her vicinity and Beniko and the Commander came upon Jarak, who offered to take them to a place where they could take shelter. In the Sanitarium's lower levels they reached the Immortal Emperor's Vault, where Valkorion stored artifacts even he deemed too dangerous, and barely got inside in time.

With not even Valkorion having a power inside and finding the door stuck, Beniko and the Commander went to activate the backup power generator, while Jarak was killed by a Vault Guardian. Inside, the Commander and Lana made an important discovery of Dramath's holocron, which still housed the essence of Valkorion's father that he killed over 1300 years ago. Dramath told them that the holocron held the power to destroy Vitiate once and for all and the Commander ordered Beniko to take care of it, since as soon as they stepped outside Valkorion would have access to the Commander's body once again. Eventually unlocking the door that trapped them inside and defeating several Voreclaws, the two learned from Theron that Vaylin had already left the surface and escaped the Sanitarium, which now threatened to collapse. The Commander and Lana rushed outside, where Theron picked them up, but before they could rest, they learned from Bey'wan Aygo that Vaylin launched another assault on Odessen.

Upon returning to Odessen, the Commander, Theron, and Lana discovered that the battle was already raging on multiple fronts. Theron volunteered to infiltrate behind enemy lines, while Lana and the Commander headed towards the Gravestone, which remained in dry dock, unable to take off until the Iokath upgrades were completed. Taking control of an Eternal Empire Walker, the Commander and Lana fought their way through the front lines, eventually meeting Arcann and the awakened Senya Tirall at the Gravestone, as it finally became operational. Lana departed to join Theron, while the mother and son reaffirmed their support for the Alliance cause and offered to stand alongside the Commander against Vaylin.

Through a holo-transmission, the Commander goaded Vaylin, prompting her to forsake the security of her command ship and journey to the surface of Odessen for a personal showdown. Vaylin, holding an Alliance member captive, awaited at the Alliance landing zone as the Commander and her family arrived to confront her. Her powers spiraling out of control, Vaylin murdered her hostage, unleashing a powerful Force Storm, leaving the Commander with no other option than to defeat her. With Vaylin deceased, Senya and Arcann grieved her passing, yet felt relieved that the battle had concluded. The fighting ceased on Odessen as the Zakuulan forces surrendered in large numbers, but the war persisted. With the Eternal Throne unoccupied, the GEMINI Captains turned rogue, reducing the capital worlds of Coruscant, Dromund Kaas, and Zakuul to ruins through relentless bombardment. Recognizing that seizing the Eternal Throne was the only means to halt the devastation, the Alliance leadership set course for Zakuul.

While resting en route, the Commander had a vision of the Eternal Throne, surrounded by allies and Vaylin, who returned from death to attack them. Upon awakening, the Commander instructed Lana to bring Dramath's holocron, but Valkorion dismissed it as a worthless relic. The group then gathered on the bridge, where, after exiting hyperspace, they observed the Spire blockaded by the Eternal Fleet. However, the Gravestone's Iokath enhancements enabled Koth Vortena to break the blockade. Senya and Arcann volunteered to accompany the Commander to the Eternal Throne, and together they descended to the surface in a boarding pod that landed in the Garden of Izax. The trio advanced toward the Spire as the Eternal Fleet bombarded Zakuul, receiving unexpected assistance from Indo Zal and his Zakuulan rebels.

After battling through skytroopers and Knights of Zakuul, they finally boarded a turbolift to the Eternal Throne. Valkorion attempted to sow discord in the Commander's mind, urging them to eliminate Senya and Arcann to prevent any challenge to the Throne, but the Commander refused. Upon entering the Eternal Throne room, Arcann was taken aback by the sight of his former Throne, lamenting the millions of deaths he had caused while occupying it. Senya reassured him that he had become a better person since then. The Commander ascended to the Throne, which sent a shock through their body and subdued the Fleet. Senya congratulated them, but Valkorion then revealed his true intention, forcing the Commander to kneel and declaring his desire to erase the Commander's mind and seize their body, plunging them into nothingness.

The Commander found themselves awake within their own mindscape, the same place where they had previously interacted with Valkorion during their carbonite stasis. However, the Commander was now wearing Valkorion's likeness in a subconscious attempt to protect their identity from complete erasure. Navigating the surreal mindscape, the Commander purged their corrupted memories, discovering that Valkorion had only feigned abandoning their body on Odessen and had later absorbed Vaylin's spirit after her demise. This gave the Immortal Emperor the key he needed to breach his vessel's mental defenses. Locating the mental representation of Dramath's holocron, the Commander reclaimed their identity, and Valkorion reappeared in his customary form.

The Commander attempted to resist, and Valkorion summoned Vaylin's enslaved spirit, placing her under his control and ordering his daughter to destroy the Commander. The Commander fought Vaylin in the mental realm and triumphed, but Valkorion easily restored her spirit. Subsequently, the Commander used the image of Dramath's holocron to liberate Vaylin from her father's mental domination. At this moment, Arcann entered the Outlander's mind using the physical holocron located in the Eternal Throne room. The Commander and Arcann convinced Vaylin to join them against Valkorion, and the three of them launched an assault on the Immortal Emperor. After toying with them for a time, Valkorion destroyed the holocron, asserting that nothing could stop him.

However, because his spirit was now linked to Vaylin's and shared her vulnerability, the Commander used the phrase "Kneel before the Dragon of Zakuul" to turn the tables on Valkorion and strip the Emperor of his power. With Valkorion weakened and overpowered, Senya joined her children in the Outlander's mind, and together the family witnessed the Immortal Emperor's final moments, until the Commander finally ended his millennia-long existence. Back in the physical world, Senya congratulated the Commander on vanquishing Valkorion and broadcasted a system-wide holochannel message announcing the Alliance's victory. The Commander then declared the era of the Eternal Alliance, merging the military of Zakuul and the Eternal Fleet with the Alliance's cause. The Eternal Throne was relocated to Odessen, and the Eternal Fleet now operated under their command.

Once radiation levels on Iokath decreased, Lana led an Alliance team to claim it for the Alliance. She contacted the Commander and Theron with a status update, which was interrupted by the arrival of Imperial and Republic forces on Iokath, who were fighting for control of the superweapon. The Commander summoned the Eternal Fleet to Iokath, but contact was mysteriously blocked, and Theron suggested finding the source of the transmission on Iokath. After landing, Theron and the Commander went to the Fleet Spire to meet with Lana, who held two emissaries sent by the Republic and the Empire—Captain Elara Dorne and Major Malavai Quinn—captive. Quinn represented Empress Acina, while Dorne worked for Supreme Commander Jace Malcom. Both sides came to Iokath seeking to claim the superweapon, pleading with the Commander to join them against the other.

The Commander chose to ally with the Republic, helping defend their base against the Imperial assault. Afterward, the Commander and Theron entered a weapons cache to acquire Iokath weapons and knowledge of how to use them. Theron downloaded files from an ancient console, discovering that the superweapon was powerful enough to wipe out all organic life on Iokath in the distant past, as well as ten trillion lives on other planets. When they reunited with Lana, she revealed that an unknown external force orchestrated the conflict, leaking identical data about the superweapon to all three parties, drawing them to the same location at the same time. Since only an Alliance member could sabotage the Eternal Throne's control over the Eternal Fleet, Lana suspected a traitor within their ranks.

The Commander and Theron moved to prevent Empress Acina from activating the superweapon, but they failed, and the legendary Six Gods were awakened. With control over the Eternal Fleet restored, Theron stayed behind to delay the superweapon's activation, while the Commander entered the superweapon command point, assuming an Iokathi throne and encountering Tyth, the first of the Six Gods. Tyth revealed that someone close to the Commander was responsible for starting the war and awakening the Six Gods, hinting at someone consumed by anger and despair. While the Commander was plugged in, the Throne was sabotaged, and the Commander ordered the Eternal Fleet to fire on the droid, disabling it. The Commander was taken back to the Fleet Spire to recover. With no way to narrow down the suspects, Lana asked for approval for full-time surveillance by an independent party, which Theron strongly opposed.

Eventually, Lana discovered a trail of the traitor leading to the shadow-world of Umbara, where a transmission with the same encryption as the one from Iokath was detected from a hovertrain carrying a large stockpile of Adegan crystals. Lana Beniko, Theron Shan, and the Commander traveled there and boarded the speeding train to intercept and stop the traitor, who was supposedly in the locomotive's control cabin. After defeating an Umbaran Shadow Assassin, the three reached the empty cockpit of the train, where Theron revealed himself as the traitor. He locked the Commander and Lana inside the cabin and sabotaged the train's tracks, which would cause the train to crash into the side of a mountain, vaporizing the Commander, Lana, and the crystals. Bailing before the impact and surviving the crash, the Commander and Lana pursued Theron on foot, while also fending off local wildlife. They caught up with Theron, but couldn't stop him before his shuttle left Umbara and were forced to contend with an Umbaran Spider Tank which covered Theron's escape. Returning to Odessen empty-handed, the Commander sent a galaxy-wide message on the HoloNet, addressing Theron directly regarding his betrayal, and ordered Beniko to use all of the Alliance's resources to locate Theron.

The Commander's message reached the right ears, and Aristocra Saganu of the Chiss Expansionary Defense Force arrived on Odessen personally, revealing that Theron was being sheltered on Copero by the rogue Syndic Zenta of the Inrokini family. To avoid a political conflict, Saganu asked the Commander to deal with the traitor personally, sending a Human Ensign Raina Temple with them to observe the Chiss Ascendancy interests. Arriving on Copero, the Commander and Temple fought their way through Copero City, eventually engaging Zenta in combat inside her starship factory.

Defeated and subdued, the Syndic explained that Theron had betrayed her as well, using her Force-sensitive relative Valss to steal the location of a holomap by slicing into her personal datapad. The map had long been kept secret on Copero and led to a superweapon of the Sith Emperor Vitiate. Having learned Theron's location, the Commander was about to continue their pursuit, but Saganu demanded that they take Zenta's life, claiming there would be no deal between the Alliance and the Ascendancy otherwise. Shan destroyed the holomap after learning the superweapon's location, but as he and Valss prepared to leave, the Commander and Temple arrived to stop them. Valss stayed behind to buy Shan enough time to escape, and the Commander struck the Chiss down, again returning to Odessen without Theron, although impressed by what she had witnessed, Raina Temple volunteered to stay with the Alliance.

Smugglers working for Hylo Visz eventually intercepted a message to the Alliance from an Abandoned Listening Post and the Commander went there with Lana to personally investigate it. They discovered that the abandoned station served as the Order of Zildrog's base of operation for months, and that the Order was able to watch the Alliance that whole time despite the regular security sweeps on Odessen. Holorecordings revealed that the Order was led by former Horizon Guard Vinn Atrius, who planned to awaken another superweapon from Iokath called Zildrog and use it against Odessen. However, a message entered just before their arrival also revealed a set of coordinates on Nathema, which Lana recognized as coming from Theron due to the unique encryption they developed together on Rishi. Forced to flee as the self-destruct mechanism was activated and completely obliterated the station, Lana and the Commander returned to Odessen just when the work of restoring the holomap from Copero was finished, revealing a location on Nathema that matched the coordinates left by Theron.

To stop the Order's plan and deal with Theron one way or another, the Commander and Lana traveled to Nathema, where they were shocked to see once lifeless world overgrown with plant life. After dealing with several Nathema Zealots and escaped beasts from the Sanitarium, they reached the coordinates, where Theron approached them and revealed himself to be secretly working for the Alliance's interests the whole time. Everyone agreed that the Order should be stopped, and Theron led Lana and the Commander towards the Emperor's Vault under an ancient Sith Temple, where Zildrog was located. When they reached the Vault, Vinn Atrius and GEMINI 16 were already in the process of awakening Zildrog. Theron shot Atrius, but GEMINI 16 trapped the three of them in a force field and finished summoning Zildrog, allowing it to remotely take over the Gravestone that remained parked on Odessen.

Controlling it through the Dark Sanctuary, Zildrog took the Gravestone into Odessen's orbit and repeatedly fired the omnicannon at the Eternal Fleet, which sat defenseless in the absence of orders from the Throne. Hylo Visz contacted the Commander and informed them of the crisis, but they, Lana and Theron were unable to do anything to stop Zildrog from completely annihilating the Eternal Fleet. Zildrog then targeted Odessen itself, but needed to recharge before the next attack, forcing GEMINI 16 to engage the Alliance directly. Lana, Theron and the Commander destroyed the last remaining GEMINI droid, and Theron attempted to shut Zildrog down, but was stabbed in the back by Vinn Atrius with a lightsaber pike. Atrius then ordered Zildrog to augment him with its power and attacked Lana and the Commander with his new increased strength.

The two defeated Atrius and destroyed Zildrog, which also caused the self-destruct of the Gravestone and disabled the Eternal Throne. The Commander decided Atrius' fate while Lana tended to Theron's wounds, determining that he needed to be immediately brought to Odessen for treatment. Back on Odessen, Lana reported to the Commander that although Odessen suffered minimal damage with no casualties to Alliance personnel, the Gravestone and the Eternal Fleet, two of Eternal Alliance's greatest weapons were gone. Without them, the Alliance no longer possessed the military force to rival that of the Republic and the Sith Empire, who redoubled on their preparations for the inevitable renewal of open hostilities. Additionally, many Alliance members chose to leave and rejoin their original factions, their goal of toppling the Eternal Empire accomplished.

With the Third Galactic War reignited between the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire, the Commander resolved to participate. Following a discussion with Lana about which galactic power the Alliance should support, the Commander journeyed to the Slippery Slopes Cantina on Nar Shaddaa to meet Jonas Balkar of the Republic to broker an alliance. During the meeting, they discovered a planned Imperial attack targeting a clandestine Jedi Colony situated on the planet Ossus. The Commander then traveled to Ossus, fighting alongside the Jedi and Republic forces, and eventually taking part in the assault on the Great Jedi Library. In the midst of the conflict, Darth Malgus, previously presumed dead, resurfaced during the invasion and attempted to obliterate the colony. However, the Republic managed to dispatch reinforcements, thwarting his forces in time.
After aiding in a space engagement, the Commander was called back to the Republic fleet, where they were informed about the Meridian Complex and the Empire's scheme to destroy it. The Commander was involved in several battles on both Onderon and Mek-Sha, where they were ambushed at the latter by a masked Force-sensitive individual. During the Meridian Complex assault, the Commander spearheaded the charge to the complex. As the battle drew to a close, the Commander escaped the complex via shuttle.

After the conflict concluded, the Commander journeyed back from Corellia and had a meeting with Supreme Chancellor Galena Rans. The Chancellor extended an invitation for them to become part of Task Force Nova, a collaborative effort between the military and civilians. Its purpose was to aid in the restoration of the Jedi Order, promising that the Eternal Alliance would be incorporated into the Galactic Republic, with Odessen becoming its affiliated world and gaining its own senator. Following some deliberation, the Commander accepted, leading to the official integration of the Alliance into the Galactic Republic. Subsequently, the Commander was approached by Lord Scourge, previously known as the Emperor's Wrath, and Jedi Knight Kira Carsen, formerly a Child of the Emperor. These two revealed that Scourge was responsible for attacking the Commander on Mek-Sha, seeking to verify that the Commander was no longer under Tenebrae's control. The trio then returned to Odessen, where Scourge and Carsen disclosed that during the Outlander's battle against Tenebrae on Zakuul, they had destroyed his original physical form, ensuring the entity's complete annihilation. However, in their haste, they inadvertently unleashed a Sith plague. Although their connection to the former emperor protected them from infection, it left them in a comatose state until Satele Shan and her followers rescued them. Unfortunately, they themselves became infected, merging into a hivemind. To prevent further spread of the disease, Scourge and Kira modified a transport and programmed it to fly an unpredictable course through uncharted regions of the Outer Rim. They also revealed that the ship would eventually return to civilized space, and that they and the Commander needed to be prepared for its arrival. Until that time, Scourge and Kira pledged their allegiance to the Commander.
The term "Outlander" is initially used to identify the player character during the Star Wars: The Old Republic expansion titled Knights of the Fallen Empire, and its usage continues throughout subsequent updates and the Knights of the Eternal Throne expansion. Once the player assumes the role of Commander of the Eternal Alliance, the Alliance personnel begin addressing the player as "Commander," while the Zakuulans persist in using the designation "Outlander." To maintain consistency with the player's history involving Theron Shan, Lana Beniko, and Darth Marr, the Outlander must have also participated in the events of the Shadow of Revan expansion, even though the term "Outlander" is never used during that period, and each class even has a mission unique to their class on Rishi. The game establishes that all eight original class characters—Hero of Tython, Barsen'thor, Meteor, Voidhound, Cipher Nine, Hunter, Empire's Wrath and Darth Nox—vanished around the time of the Eternal Empire conquest, and any of them can become the Outlander. This leads to numerous class-specific dialogue options that reference the player's past and unique cutscenes during reunions with original class companions. Throughout the game, the player encounters various choices aligned with either the light or dark side, some of which are minor, while others can significantly alter the storyline, such as the deaths of characters who might otherwise survive and remain relevant in future events. The player also has the option to initiate a romantic relationship with Lana Beniko, Theron Shan, or Koth Vortena (as well as Arcann, if he is redeemed), regardless of their character's gender, or to resume their initial romance with a returning class companion. In Jedi Under Siege, players have the option to choose which faction they want to support, regardless of their decision on Iokath. They can either remain loyal to their original faction or become a saboteur for the opposing faction. If players choose to become a saboteur, they will not fight alongside their new allies but will have the opportunity to carry out sabotage missions to weaken their former faction.
The opening scene of Onslaught, which depicts a Republic starfighter squadron ambushing a Terminus-class destroyer, varies depending on the chosen faction:
If the Outlander sided with the Republic, the Outlander leads the fighter squadron aboard an Alliance shuttle. The destroyer is destroyed by bombers, and the captain attempts to escape via shuttle. If the Outlander is loyal, they will disable the shuttle's engines and successfully capture the captain. If the Outlander is an Imperial Saboteur, they will intentionally miss, allowing the captain to escape into hyperspace.
If the Outlander sided with the Empire, a trap is set, and a Harrower Dreadnought, along with another Terminus, assists in destroying the fighter squadron. The Outlander leads the Imperial fighters in an S-13 Sting. One of the Republic pilots attempts to escape. If the Outlander is loyal, they will shoot down and destroy the fighter. If the Outlander is a Republic Saboteur, they will fire on the escaping fighter but only damage it, allowing it to escape.
At the conclusion of the Onslaught expansion, a commander who remained loyal to their faction is presented with the choice of rejoining their previous faction, along with the entire Alliance, or maintaining independence. However, if the Commander acted as a saboteur and undermined their faction's efforts on Corellia, they will not be invited back into their former faction.
Acina revealed to the Commander her belief that the Dark Council was better suited for administrative tasks rather than crucial wartime operations. She then introduced her concept for an organization that would report directly to her, drawing inspiration from the Emperor's Hand of the late Sith Emperor. She decided to reform the organization into "The Hand," composed of the Empire's most skilled and loyal personnel. Acina's plan involved recruiting the initial members from the Eternal Alliance's ranks, officially incorporating Odessen into the Empire, and granting Imperial Citizenship to all Alliance personnel. The Alliance Commander would be granted:
- If the player is a Sith Warrior, Acina or Vowrawn will reinstate their rank as Empire's Wrath and appoint them as the official leader of the Hand. [50]
- If the player is a Sith Inquisitor, Acina or Vowrawn will restore their Sith title, and Dark Council seat if they chose to kill Anathel prior to this, and any past holdings would once again be theirs to claim in service of destroying the Empire's enemies. [50]
- If the player is an Imperial Agent, Acina or Vowrawn will grant the rank of Keeper, giving them command over covert operations separate from Darth Xarion's Sith Intelligence. [50]
- If the player is a Bounty Hunter, Acina or Vowrawn will grant them the rank of Hunter, tasking them with hunting down and eliminating the Empire's enemies. [50]
The Alliance Commander accepts the Empress's or Emperor's proposal, rejoining the Sith Empire and declaring that this is where they truly belong. Acina expresses her satisfaction with the Commander's response and states that she will begin the necessary preparations and assign a liaison between herself and the Commander in Darth Malgus's absence.
While outlining what the Alliance Commander can reclaim upon rejoining the Empire, Acina also offers the option for the Alliance Commander to remain in their current position and maintain the Alliance's independence, although they would still collaborate with the Hand rather than the Dark Council. If the Commander declines to rejoin, Acina will express her disappointment and offer a bitter farewell until they are called upon.
If Acina was killed on Iokath, Vowrawn proposes the same idea instead, with all the same conditions and opportunities.
